Q:

Just ordered a SS

After browsing this forum for a while, I had to do it, I ordered a Talon SS in .22 this morning.

I am trying to resist buying some aluminum round stock to take to the lathe until after I get the airgun.

Horay!!! Welcome to the darkside 😀 I hope that you tell us what you think.

The first thing that I did before I even mounted the scope was to shoot it over a chronograph. I was thrilled when it showed me 830 fps.! Too cool! 😀 It takes an 8 or 9 pound springer to do those kind of velocities and they have recoil/hold issues. Well, not for Rob. (Rob is like the God of springers…so is Harry…great shooting guys). I just don’t have the patients for springers…that’s my failing.

Good luck with it! 😀

Congratulation now the fun begins 😀

It’s here.

Quieter than I thought.

Fedex truck out to be rolling up any minute now.

The airgun isn’t even here yet, and I just ordered the raw materials to make a 12″ receiver extesion and baffle, that will make buying a 24″ barrel so much easier in coming weeks.

Welcome to the world of tons of shots – great accuracy – and great modular expandability- I’ve had mine 3 and a half months – origanally got it as a .177 SS co2 set up – then got the standard tank and hand pump which is not bad at all( hand pumping) then just weeks later got the 18″.177 and .20 cal barrels-tons of shots in .177- 10.6 kodiaks and 10.5 crosman heavies are a must hopefully one day youll see why. The .20cal is nasty 13.3gr kodiaks at just under 1000fps – the 14 gr crosmans seem alittle heavy in this 18″ setup a little too slow for my tastes but very sweet none the less- 24″ barrels next .20 and .22 – thinking about an ultra magnum condor tank and hammer weight to go with the long .20 and .22 😈 —- time for you to start shootin….

Welcome,

You are in the right place and are going to enjoy your SS. First thing is get baffles in that bad boy. And shoo the heck out of it.
