Proud New Owner of an SS
I’m the proud new owner of a used SS. I picked her up this weekend at the Kittery Trading Post. I’m an all around newbie both to the SS and air rifles in general. Any helpful hints, things to watch out for or of course the must have options would be much appreciated.
I found your forum while researching back and forth between a rifle or bow. Looked like a great group here. So after my hour or so of bouncing back and forth between the bow and SS at the store I knew I couldnt pass up the great deal on the rifle. And of course this was my next stop.
Two things I’m really looking for input on off the bat are:
One) They had no pump to go along with the rifle so if anyones knows where to get a decent pump for short money that’d be great. (little tapped out aftr the 475 drop on the rifle 😆 )
Two) Looking to get the user manual and factory specs for the rifle
I’ll of course use the search section to find out as much as i can on my own but pointers would be great. Thanks All In Advance!

Wait till you get good and used to it and go to a public shooting range with tables, that has burms for “plinking targets” you’ll be able to hit stuff at 50 yd that guys with 22s and powderburners are having trouble with. Really fun to see people’s reactions then. 😈 especially when they realize they got outshot at 50 yards by a “lowly little pellet gun”. 😀 😀 😀 😀
My favorite part about going to the range is watching people try to figure out what the heck you are shooting. 😀
i got my condor friday last week used but it is tuned by tony
let my friend shoot it after about 5 shots at 90 to 100 yards…. he wants one and thats only 5 shots

Don’t ya just love that reaction. Everyone I meet still (I’ve had my first over 3 yrs now) reacts pretty much the same way.

Hey I’m a newb as well… these are great guns, aren’t they? The biggest kick so far is seeing my neighbors’ jaws drop when they see the nickel sized groups I shoot. At least three of them are now trying to convince their wives they need an airgun too. The wives think I’m a bad influence… 😆

Regarding a hand pump, others can guide you better than I (I use CO2), but if I had to throw 2 cents at the issue, I’d say shop carefully if you want a used hand pump. From what I’ve read on a number of forums, they can get pretty temperamental and problematic even when fairly new, requiring a teardown/rebuild.

So I got it and shot it sunday and haven’t had a minute with it since. At least while it was light enough out to shoot her. Going through withdrawl already 😯
Been reading as much as i can in the mean time. Pretty sure first thing after my filling problem is taken care of I want to make her as quiet as possible. So if any one is looking to unload an old moderator in the near future and anyone looking for a test dumie for a new design drop me a line in pm.
