Those are great groups Crimson Sky, I was wondering what your take is on those gold kodiaks, obviously they are grouping very well, but they seem quite expensive… are they worth the extra bucks? And besides the color/coating, how do they compare with regular kodiaks?

These 5-shot groups were made outdoors at 20 meters, bench rested with an Airforce 4-16×50 scope on a stock .22 cal TalonSS filled to 2700 psi. Pellets were sorted for integrity but not weighed. These airguns are capable of even better with lots of practice–like anything else!

My .22 SS and JSB Exacts seems to like:

Zero at 20 yards = 1/4″ low at 50 yards. (pcp)

This seems to work well for me.

P.S. use 20 yards to get vertical zero, and close left right.

at 50 yards (if no wind at the time) I will tune left right.

After looking at chairgun I’m thinking 17yd is a bad distance for doing groups. Correct me if I’m wrong but at 25 to 30 yards it looks like the shooting curve is a lot flatter than at 17 yards which would give me better shots???

Is this logic correct?

Come on knifemaker… we all know that dime is covering up a couple holes. 😆

But seriously, that’s really good shooting for 50 yrds. You to laanguiano, not bad at all.

I should note that the picture is actually rotated. 90 clockwise. The target should read with the dime face straight up and down.

I probably have around 200 shots through it.

Im just wondering if I should clean the barrel???, but it did come from Airhog shooting 1/4 in groups at 30yrds (They gave me the confirmation target).

Most of the paralax should be gone. i checked my moving my eye around once it was benched, I didnt notice it moving, but I am shooting at full zoom at 15x

I have a stock TalonSS. After I mounted the scope and sighted it in to 20 and then 30 yards. I could put 5 shots into one ragged hole that a dime could very easily cover up at 30 yards. I also put 10 shots at 30 yards that a quarter would cover up again very easily.

Note to all — I am a very bad shot. I have friends that out shoot me very time we go to the range.

Hard to say. Not knowing your skill level. Could be a parallax issue. Trigger issue. Once the Bbl. is broken in, it should get a bit tighter off the bench. I would expect that at 40 yards at least. In some guns, 50-60 yards. These guns are capable of very good accuracy.

not bad at all. groups are very shooter related, and so subjective. Good for one person might be shit for another. Best comparison is for you to shoot two guns in comparison; one you are familiar with and one new one which you are not. if the “new” gun shoots better than the old, it is probably a keeper.

On your group……looks like 4 in almost one hole with a flyer. really good. especially if you know which shot the high left one was.
