Kodiaks on C02. Yes or no?
Legendary with HPA, of course, but I’m wondering if they’re too heavy to perform with CO2 behind them.
Over the weekend, I shot a few that were left over from a sampler box. The accuracy is there at around 20 yds, but I’ve got no chrony, so I was wondering if I’m just lobbing heavy spitballs with substandard FPE.
I’d like to know before I pony up the cash (assuming I can find them in stock somewhere)… or should I just stick with my usual CPs and JSBs in the 14-15gr range?

You’d find it interresting to run a ballistics program using a light fast .22 pellet and the big heavy Kodiaks….you know the trajectory will favore the light fast pellet, but take a look at the wind drift.
Gravity (trajectory) is pretty constant and easy to adjust for once you know the yardage, but any help you can get with the wind (which is never constant) always seems to help long range kills.
I am getting 698fps at 22.8fp and taking game out at 58 yards easy wiyh a stock condor .22cal. on co2. in this forum go to condors then go to condor on co2 and chrony numbers it is on page 2 and check it out I used the kodiaks.
The big Kodiak will carry energy further, hit harder, and kill just as well as the lighter stuff even in a CO2 gun. The fact of the matter is whether you want to compensate for the slightly more looping trajectory.
I personally like heavy stuff, even in my lower powered guns.
My modded Crosman 2250 (C02) spits out Kodiaks at around 615 fps last time I cronied it, and I was hitting the little chicken spinner target at about 40 yrds no problem. Not sure what the Condor 24″ does, but I’m sure it’s better than that. I’m thinking any squirel would be toast with a Kodiak doing 600+ at the muzzle out to 30 yrds or so.
With a 24″ barrel I’d at least give them a try with CO2, but I don’t think I’d bother with 18 or 12″ because there are lighter pellets out there better suited to it such as JSB’s or CP’s
Yeah, I’ve got the 24″. I like what everyone says about the Kodiaks, but I don’t want to invest unless I’m sure they’ll put the lights out. (squirrels, etc)
I’ve got a few left from the sampler, maybe I’ll just give them the old “pine board” test at 25 yards to see what kind of heat they bring.

I’ve shot Kodiaks from a Multi-Pump Pistol and got good groups. Bit loopy at low speed, but if you can compensate they work.

The Kodiaks were pretty much identical in POA as the lighter stuff at 20 yards, guess I’ll take ’em out to my max 35 yds before the snow flies to see how much they drop.
My only potential issue is that I’m not one who likes to mess around with elevation adjustments between pellet types. More of a “set it and forget it” kind of guy. And with the scarcity of the Kodiaks, I’d be reluctant to dial ’em in as my main round unless they shoot about as flat as the 15gr stuff.
