The top rail is mainly for looks, it filled in a big ugly gap.

I’ve done a bit more tarting on it, put a groove at the rear end and made a cutter (from the usual allen-key) so I could cut a proper groove in the face. It looks a lot better for it.
I made one for Pablo, different design, but it was a wee bit too small for his custom barrel, so it’s coming back for some 18mm-drill action. He wants me to put holes around it, I think he’s got a bit of a .50-cal fetish going on. 😆
