Q:

MAde my own 25cal pellet holder

Today I made a pellet holder for the new 25cal. rifle. I am not impressed with the current pellet holder out there with the plastic backing. I got one for my 22cal and the pellets fell out, thing was deformed, very very cheap. Anyway I found a mat at work ( door mat ) of 1/2″ thick grey foam material that was twice as “stout” as the pellet holder I bought. Perfect. so I cut a piece 3″ x 4″, scribed the marks for holes and used a leather punch to punch out 24 holes. Then I drilled thru the piece sideways so two long wire ties could be inserted, to hold it to the bottle. I drilled thru right in the middle of the foam and 1″ in on both ends. I then spray pained it flat black and WAALAAA!

Here it is in production….you can see the wire tie holes in between the 1st and 2nd rows on each end.

Yes sir, that is just pretty slick. Yesterday I got 2 of the ones in the mail that PA sells and was quite disappointed with the quality for the price they charged. May just have to use your design and make my own….

Thanks for sharing ! ! !

Yeah, the holders from PA are terrible, pellets are ALWAYS falling out.
I called and asked the manufacturer about this BEFORE I bought mine and he said they would not fall out…, THEY DO FALL OUT!!!!!

I now use the foam pipe wrap around my scope and it works MUCH BETTER than the holders you buy for $10, and for $10 worth of pipe wrap, you can make a LOT of pellet holders

Carefully drill two holes using a long 3/16″ drill bit. Drill high speed, but go slow so the path is horizontal, and do not drill thru the top or bottom.

how do you make the lateral holes? 😕 😕

Yes the pellets pull out real easy – NEVER fall out. And the Krylon flat black paint sticks on the material extremely well.

The material does not seem to have “memory” and it stiffer than the store bought one.

I really like this one. Use the hole punch that has a size about the diameter of a 22 pellet.

Do the pellets pull out easy enough?
I found the one i made from similar material difficult to pull the pellets out if too tight, but fell out if too loose!

I like the idea of the cable ties, i just used tape around the outside and it looked crap.

Nice job 😀

I like that 😀

nice, I like it. Guess the key to the whole idea is good “neoprene” type material for minimal “memory” and properly sized holes.
Really like the ties run through the holder instead of around it.

That looks much better.

The other one they sell sucks so much it is only used for a cheek piece now.
