4500 msa tank
Can I use a MSA CF scba tank ( 4500 psi ) to fill my Condor from ? What adapter do I need for the valve currently on this type of tank ?

The new DIN valves on the new high pressure scuba tanks present a problem, because they are NEW. Below is the setup that I have on both the old scuba and the new 4350 psi scuba. The white tank is a Luxfer 106. They are available for $350 including shipping at http://scubatanks.us/index1.html. The DIN adapter with quick connect I got in ebay for $45 including shipping.

National Pipe Threads are tapered, and seal on that taper (usually with PTFE tape), Brithish Straight Pipe is *straight* (who’da figured?). The seal is done elsewhere (in the photo above with the ‘Dwody washer’.
They are not interchangable.
You can get the fill adapter from Mac1 or Joe B (I think Joe’s has a nicer gauge, Tim’s has a smaller volume).
You also need to consider how you’re going to fill the tank. SCUBA and Paint Ball shops don’t have ‘fire house fittings’. They can’t fill SCBA bottles. My adapter ends in a female QD, I have to give the shop the tank, adapter and male/male QD fitting. They fill it like it was a giant paintball tank.

or use your scuba yolk, no modification, with the adapter I linked above, no threading or fitting of the gauge to worry about. Your complete fill adapter will clamp to the square adapter listed above, just like it was a scuba tank. that’s what I have.
I am pretty sure it is 1/4 npt.
Here is what I got with my Condor package. I can get the MSA bottle nut outlet line. What I have to figure out or make in my shop is a block that I can thead the black AF adapter into and the gauge ( 1/4″ NPT ) with a valve.
Does anyone know the thead on that black bottle adapter male end ?

If you don’t have any of the fill adapters, probably cheaper to get an adapter and hose like wok has on his.
Well I bought one, so now I guess I’ll have to figure out how to fill my Condor tanks with it. Anyone got a good setup in mind to monitor and fill to 3000 psi?

Strieyder – can you give me a link to the quick connect you are referring to on ebay? I just purchased a tank from the same guy you did today. Thanks for the link! I was looking at paying $625 for a tank that as rated at 4500… but I’ll take 4350 for $300 less any day 😀
