as long as no damage to the fibers, you will be in the clear as far as visual inspection goes.
oh i hope so it would suck thinking i got a great deal and wd up getting what i payed for . a lemon
I just cleaned up the tank with some scotch bright, acetone and fast orange. I found like 2 nics in the outer layer of the finish that are deep enough to catch your finger nail while sliding it across. Not to the fibers, so it should pass I guess?
sweet I’m going to get me one coming right now. well truth be know i allready got one after seeing TG’s. as long as they pass hydro and the fireman said it would and if it didn’t he would replace it I was all over it.
glad to here its so light the best is I know the fire chief and i get it filled for free.
I received my bottle. I must say I LOVE the weight compared to that steel I had!
Bones, there are no dents or deep gouges so it should pass hydro. The valve is in excellent condition. My bottle doesn’t look as nice as that one though. It’s very dirty with more scratches. I’m thinking I can clean off the black and sticky stuff. Maybe sand out some of the surface scratching.
While it’s probably not going to blow up on you, if the dive shop catches the rating they’re going to refuse to fill your tank past 3200.

get my tanks filled at local fire dept, without the adapter. adapter is just for charging the talon tanks using the af scuba adapter. never sees full pressure. you’re right, not for filling the big tank; need an scba to scuba DIN adapter to fill at dive shop.
I’d be careful with that adapter, it’s not rated for 4500 psi. It’s a 3200 psi part.

Thanks Guys!!
Another question, does anyone know what presure and hold time they hydro those tanks at?
Thanks again for the info!
This adapter works great if you already have an af scuba fill adapter.

available from compressed air specialties for only $80

Very compact and no hose. I’ll try to post a pic of mine all set up later.
I’ll let you know bones.
The charging assembly for this tank and an 1/4″ male quick connect to attach to my Airforce fill fitting was $219 to my door from Joe Brancato. Don’t forget you’ll need a hyrdo on the tank. I think they’re $40-50?
What else would you need to buy (and where) to complete the set up for these tanks? Would you need to change regs, valves, etc.? How much extra would you have pay for the fittings?
Help is appreciated. Thanks
when it shows will you let me know .
I will receive mine Wednesday. According to him they are in “excellent condition.”

Are these things covered with fiberglass resin? If so, I have some I could use just to touch it up. Nobody’d ever find the nics then. 😛
