Q:

Help!! Safety not engageing

I took my trigger group apart to do the trigger mod and polish all the contact points and now the safety won’t engage. I took it out and the hammer would not stay locked back. Sooooo, I put the safety back in and even tho it won’t engage the hammer will now lock back.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks
Royce

Hi Adam, Thanks I’ll give that a try. Just got back from the range, I was compareing the JSB’s against the Kodiaks. I do prefer the Kodiaks but the JSB’s are just as accurate. I’m getting 3/8″ groups @ 25yrds with both of them. Different POI tho.
And Shark, as far as the hammer goes it’s one of Tony’s 70 gram brass hammers, and it locks back fine as long as the safety parts are in there. It’s just that the safety does’nt work.
The gun is for my 11 year old boy otherwise I wouldn’t worry about the safety so much.
Thanks for the info guys. As always this is a great place to go for help.

Hi m8

Get to the quick ref section here for some detailed pics, about Wok has mentioned as it helps alot if your stuck, (to look at pics, as your doing the job at hand) (that doesn’t sound right? right) Also you took the hammer out? Did you put it in back the right way? Because the uk ones i have encountered have had hammers made out of delrin and one side was chamfered and if you put it back in the wrong way, it does as you describe. Just a thought.

Royce,

take the sear spring and move it from its place and move it into the oblong space next to it under the sear.

Give it a try. Also a little stretch on the spring helps also.
