Q:

OK, here is a tough question (at least for me).

What would you guys do with her if she was yours? She is CO2 and .22 cal. Gun: Crosman 2240

Now, this pistol has been in the works for a while. She has minimal work done to her. She has a custom long breech on her with the stock 7″ barrel and new O rings everywhere. A custom brass muzzle break and a trigger shoe. She also has some custom grips on her from tim at MAC1. Now the one thing i know that i do want to keep is……..I WANT TO KEEP HER A PISTOL. Have too many rifles as is and not enough pistol. I was thinking longer barrel for sure. So any or as many suggestions is appreciated. It is a future project and for now i am just searching for ideas. Also, i do wanna keep her in .22 or might even be happy with .20″.

I know you said you wanted to keep the .22cal, but I got to shoot a 22xx recently that had an 8″ .25 bbl on it. Cheap ammo (#3 buckshot) made it a really cool plinker/shooter. plenty accurate to 25yd or so. loads of fun. Bulk fill conversion for sure, if you want to shoot it much.

How about this big boy

Yes.

WOK you make those shrouds?

Do this

Oh Man there’s a million things you can do to those 22XX guns…

All depends on how far you want to go.

I can tell you what I had done to mine,

1st thing, went from stock barrel to a 18, then 21″er
Had this guy Greg Fuller (this guy knows his shit) ace the piercing pin, and shave off about 4 threads off the valve head for more gas volume.

No more piercing pin, no more c02 powerlets, so I had Mac 1 Tim bulk it, now runs 3.5 oz bottle.

Greg installed a Stronger hammer spring, custom valve stem/spring

Replaced plastic breach with Crosman metal one. Also got my grips from Mac 1.

Love the gun but don’t shoot it much anymore because it’s so damn loud, really need some kind of moderater. That’s a nice 2240 you got, they’re alot of fun!

Here’s a pic of my C02 set up and gun.

I’d keep her just like she is. Maybe a few exceptions… do a trigger job if it has not already been done. Maybe also do a transfer port mod to the valve. Only enlarge the valve and lighten spring if you wish to add a longer barrel. The waste in gas for the only slight increase in velocity doesn’t pay on a short barrel.

If you want to leave it a pistol, I would keep the original barrel length. Maybe change to 10″. A barrel over 10″ will make you want to turn it into a carbine anyway. I know from experience. LoL.

They’re fun guns. Possibilities with them are endless. Comes down to.. do you want a hunting powerhouse or a gas conservative paper shooter. Also, what kind of money would you want to put into it.

Do you have two of them? Is that why you made two threads?

😛
