BLODNOB VALVE
I am curious about the blodnob valve that I have heard mentioned. Would any of you recommend one? I have a 12″ Talon SS .22 that I want to speed up. Does it effect accuracy? What kind of velocity could I see with Kodiaks and JSB exacts? And finally, does he still make them and what do they cost?
Any recommendations or suggestions are always appreciated.
Thanks,
Lou

Yeah when I picked up a Hi Flo tank from Mac 1 Tim, the tank was in a cardboard tube, with striker weight, butt pad, allen wrench and screw. I doubt he put the extras in there, so I’m assuming that’s how they come when you order a condor tank seperately. He sold it to me for $170.00
He offers a pretty darn good deal there don’t he. I’m sure he may take the time to test or at least examine the bottle’s before shipping.

Well, first thing I did was mess with my top hat which was set from the factory at .142″. After about an hour of adjusting from .070, I found my best setting at .090″. I then put a lil more weight to my striker/hammer (2 washers between the main spring and striker) and fiddled with the power wheel. I hit 900 fps on level 8.5 with a 2800 lb fill. This thing is extremely addicting! I could spend hours and not even realize it. I think my next step might be a .25 cal 18″ barrel with shroud with a Condor valve and properly weighted striker.
That’s pretty good Lou. What did you do to get 900 with 16 gr pellets. What fill pressure are you using? The best I get is 830 with 14.3 gr Crosman Premier’s.
I think I’m gonna be good for now. I did some playing around with my valve, top hat and power wheel. I’m now getting 900 fps with JSB exacts (16gr). This is plenty for now. I’m sure I’ll get the itch again. I love tinkering with stuff!
Hi Lou,
I think that the 12″ bbl is the biggest limitation to the SS platform. The stock valve is capable of releasing too much air just the way it is. I have read about people who have installed the .22 cal 18″ bbl and gotten into the 950 fps range just by changing the bbl alone. WOK has a custom 16″‘ bbl that gives him 950. I think that he mentioned some valve work and other tuning. You should ask him about it; although he may very well post about it now that I have brought it up.
Maybe it’s time for you to buy a Condor? AF is giving away the CO2 adapter as a promo right now…PA gets $100 for it alone.
Good luck, and don’t take my word for it..ask around…there are people who are much mor knowledgable than I.
Maybe someone else will chime in here. I recall reading something about the spare hi-flo coming with the Condor weight. Can pick up a bottle at Pyramyd Air for about $190.
Call airforce and tell them you want a condor tank and a striker weight. There is only one weight available from airforce,
Where would I get a striker weight and what weight would you recommend?
Don’t give up on it Lou. A nice alternative would be a Condor hi-flo bottle and striker weight.
A Blodnob valve will give you SERIOUS power. Very well made and a great guy to deal with.
Thanks.
I guess I’ll hold off until I get a longer barrel.
The blodnob valve is made by a guy here. It’s capable moving awesome amounts of air. You’d just be wasting air however with the 12″ barrel.

Riff, it’s obvious neither of us examined the first Condor bottle I got from him very good lol, I did a thread on the one with the bad valve stem. I didn’t notice it till I got home. When I called him on it, he did good and replaced that one with another new one, so I left a happy camper for sure. Thanks again Tim.
