Q:

Shortening the tri-rail…

Well, I hate the way the tri-rail looks when it’s going the entire length of the scope rail. So, I want to shorten it a little bit, but is it ok to just take an electric saw to it and then spraypaint it black again?

Want it to look something like this:

What the heck… I’ll mill it off for you if you want.

You can do your own sharpie art/paint job though – I’ve had enough with painting stuff – Just ask WOK.

Thanks yellow!!! I’ll PM you right now. 🙂

Well I don’t really want to use a hacksaw because it’s not accurate enough. Can somebody with cool equipment at their house help me out?

Its something I made.

The bubble level was just one I found at the hardware store. Its actually almost as wide as the tri rail but all you can see is the center of it through that hole. Because the hollowed out tube the bubble level is in is raw aluminum it acts like a mirror and makes the bubble really easy to see.

Hey, that’s a nice piece of work! A round of applause for your inventiveness.

The ends of the tri rail are sharp and can cut you. I had to take my tri rail and sand down the ends and then used a black sharpy to blacken it.

Its something I made. I wanted to lower my scope but keep the tri rail for stiffness.

I cut the scope mounts into the rail, chopped off the back of the rail so you could still turn the AO adjustment on the scope and added a bubble level in the back end. I even considered cutting off the back part of the guns rail. I never really liked the pointed end sticking out like that.

tell us more about the level, is it custom or did it come that way?

Use a hacksaw.

What’s that gold/yellow thing? Is that a bubble level mounted inside the tri-rail???

Yeah, it is.

Well I don’t have anything to cut metal accurately with. I may need somebody’s help with this. 😳

No problem functionally if you saw the end off…. If you can make a clean cut – go for it if that’s what you want.
