Condor tank anomaly, wanto know if there’s safety concern?
Hello everybody, my 1st post here:D
Looking for help, just bought a condor tank for my talon and saw something (I think is) abnormal, want to know if yours are like this?
1. The valve doesn’t seem to be sitting on the tank at right angle, looks like it’s been tilted a little bit, leaving uneven clearance on both side.
2. There’s a clearly visible taper at the top of the container.
3. Some black glue can be seen under the valve.
Does any of these pose a safety concern? Should I get it replaced?
The invoice said it’s produced in April 2008.
Just laugh at me if I’m worrying too much, don’t want to mess with any high pressure container involved surprise though..

Yeap, that is not such a cool thing when the O-ring is the sealing property and having half the O-ring exposed sure could allow the opened side to blow out easy enough.
Two ways to fix, you can fix yourself as I would and hone the face of the tank down on the high side till you get the valve seating squarely and then maybe just add a little extra O-ring groove so as not to pinch the O-ring into, or send it back and let AF replace it…
Even with the void filled with red loctite I still would not want mine like that, but I would hone mine down and fix it myself, just my nickles worth

I’aint no pro, just a confused customer worrying about the strength and puzzled at the same time how can it be like that?
I mean if the valve thread is machined into the bottle, be it turning or milling process, it’d be hard to imagine the axis can be canted so much.
Or it’s molded on the bottle, still rather large a tolerance for casting.
Or….there’s nothing wrong with the thread axis it’s just the valve is forcefully tightened in place by a wrong angle with a 2 meter long wrench 😯 😯 😯
already tried to fill it to 2.5k psi (err…can’t wait to try my rig out) and it seemed to be working alroyt, guess that means I should stop thinking about get it replaced…but yes, I’ll send the pics to AF anyway see what they’re going to say about it.
I just got a new bottle and I noticed it first thing when I took it out of the package. Just didn’t think anything of it. It’s AFs shitty QC department. It’ll work fine I’d think. Just be off to guys like you and me. I need to get air before I can test performance.
I mentioned the valve issues when I ordered and asked if they could possibly test it and send a bottle that performed properly from 3k PSI fill. Rachel gave me the same ” your gauge is wrong” problem bullshit that Gaylord fucker used to bounce off of. I’m pretty sure they didn’t test the bottle.

My hi-flow valve is canted almost like that on the bottle. Not sure if it’s as much but it’s definitely canted. I noticed it after I started using it and on the 2nd fill.
Why not send the pics to AF and tell us what they say about it?
Mine is like that. A slight angle to one side. But, the way it mounts, the valve is straight on the gun. I’ve never had a problem (Well, I’ve had lots of problems, but none from that)
It’ll probably work fine as it is, but considering the lengths you went to take pics and outline the issue, I can tell you’re a sharp-eyed perfectionist.. and there’s nothing wrong with that, especially for what one of those things costs.
I’d send it back for a replacement. There’s no DIY fix for that issue, IMO.

First of all, GOOD photography. The “taper” and “Glue” appear, I say again, appear, to be the O-ring that is between the valve and the bottle neck. Yes, AF did put some kind of thread sealer on the valve threads.
Why the valve is canted, I don’t know. And I may be wrong about the other matters but mine looks the same other than the cant. Perhaps someone else will comment on that.

I just got that same shit from her the other day, I just laffed at her and said “NO, there is no possible way 2 different gages can read the same if they are off, now could there. she said something must of broke in the valve and to send it back and they will test.
I’ts hard to be leave they are still trying to pull that GayLord shit even after he has recanted.
O – btw i’m shooting at 850 and I know this ’cause I can here it – Dumb Shit!
