Q:

sient pellet trap kit

Archer has expanded their offeing of quiet pellet traps. This one in kit form is a good alternative at reasonable price if you don’t have a bunch of woodworking stuff available. They also have a fitted steel backing available.

Their duct seal is overpriced, buy it locally.

Yes, not too hard to build your own.

I put the link up as an alternative for the benefit of those who would rather not start from scratch but still want a good solid pellet trap. (costs about the same as some of the cheap sheetmetal ones that don’t last).

Not hard to make one. Can probably scrounge up some stuff from around the house, minus duct seal.

I built this out of stuff I already had available. Galvanized sheet metal, 2x4s cut for backing and in front of that is pallet wrap. If you’re shooting more than about 30 FPE into it you might want to get a steel backing. I think 50 FPE would blow clean through mine.

Or you can make on that will last forever and you can leave out side year round

Its a simple wooden box with “impact putty” on the backside. It sounds like this Joe may have inspired many variations on that theme.

From the website: “This is an officially-licensed version of the original design by Dr Joe Matusic”

wait a minute… Dr. Joe is claiming he’s the designer of a simple wooden box?

I think he’d have a hard time getting a patent for that brainstorm…

😆
