Ordering New Condor .22
Just wondering what would be. 3 or 4 good pellets to order with the gun? I’m assuming Kodiacks, but what else would you guys suggest? There are no shops in my area that carry any type of pellet selection so I need to bring them from out of town. Thanks

how good is the accuracy of the condor shooting Kodiaks at 1200 fts??
I’m asking cause I want to get an idea of what can I hope of my rifle in that configuration.
Crosman Premier domed (625ct in cardboard box) weigh 14.3gr. Not 14.9 or whatever, just 14.3gr. They ‘re too light for my Condor but in a stock Condor at the lowest setting they should be ok.
The JSB Predators are supposed to be 16gr (Pyramyd Air has them as 16.5gr but I don’t believe that ‘s correct) and the JSB Jumbos are 15.8-15.9gr.
The Predators are very accurate in my Condor .22 but the Kodiaks are a bit better.
Get a few tins of 21.1gr Kodiaks too. You won’t regret it. The CP’s are too light to produce and “real” FPE #’s. The Kodiaks and heavier pellets will give you a lot more knock-down power.
The 4 different types of pellets I use in my Condor in no particular order are:
28.4gr Eun Jin
21gr Kodiak
16gr JSB Predator
32gr Eley slugs (look just like .22LR bullets)
You can substitute the 32gr Eleys for the 32gr Sam Yan cause Eleys are expensive ($30 for 300), but they are very accurate in my gun and shoot nice even on a windy day. That is if you have a need for such a heavy pellet.. they do carry a lot of energy. Out of these 4 the Kodiaks are the most accurate in my gun with Eley 2nd, JSB 3d, and EunJin 4th, but they ‘re all very close.
Tha pred’s are a touch high, but when they hit the target-Rabbit, Sq. Black Bird——-Priceless!!! 😈
Weight is right at 15.9. So not really light. Same as the JSB’s

.22 Preds weigh 15g and some change, IIRC, so they’re a little heavier than the CPs.
The little plastic point is a good thing. IMO, the Pred is a modified hollowpoint… my thinking is that the red plastic insert improves the aerodynamics and accuracy compared to a traditional hollowpoint’s “air-grabbing” nose, and is designed to break away to allow proper expansion upon impact. There was a rambling discussion about this in the General forum, do a search if you’d like…
Whether the point contributes anything at the second of impact is anyone’s guess, but I’m sure it doesn’t detract from what the pellet is supposed to do.
I was worried because the predators are light and pointed I would have thought there accuracy would have suffered.
The Predators are excellent… excellent for when you absolutely, positively need to kill something.
My own rudimentary test-shooting at beer cans filled with water showed me the CPs and Jumbos zipped right through… the hole on each side was about the same diameter.
The Predators, however, put a nice clean .22 caliber hole in the front side of the can, and then literally blew out half of the back side. Torn to shreds. The damage was impressive, to say the least.
For your other questions, yes, the CPs are about 14.9g. They’re the ones that come in the cardboard box. I’ve had good luck with the CP hollow points (in the tin), they’re dirt cheap and available at WallyWorld. Great for hunting or plinking, and if I went shooting more often, the HPs would probably be my go-to, just to save a buck if nothing else.
The JSB Exact Jumbos are also very nice to shoot, maybe call it a heavier version of the CP. Accurate and sold at a decent price-point. Handle the tin gently, the skirts are soft lead and bend easily.
The best thing about the all of them is they all shoot just about the same in my gun. I zeroed with the Preds, and the rest of them are either dead-on or CEFGOW at the distance I’m shooting (25 yds)… so I don’t have to fuss with the scope elevation if I want to switch between them.
FWIW, I’m shooting a Condor SS on CO2, so your mileage may vary.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my long-winded dissertation for the evening. 😆
How heavy are the crossmans’s?(14gr) Also domed or the hollow points? And has anyone shot the JSB. predators? The shop I’m dealing with doesn’t have any Jumbos in stock 🙁
JSB Jumbo, Crossman Premier Heavy; both proven performers; will have to shoot on lower power to keep them subsonic in the Condor
I haven’t tried them, but a bunch of folks here have good results from the big Eun Jin pellets.

I don’t know. I don’t shoot Kodiaks at 1,200fps but maybe someone else does. I like shooting them under 1,100 or 1,050 and keep them subsonic. My shroud works well with sub-sonic velocities. They ‘re dead accurate though but I ‘m not sure what happens when they go supersonic. If I want more than ~50fpe, I use the 28.4gr Eun Jins or 32gr Eleys which can achieve that with just <900fps.
As a rule of thumb you should try and keep the velocities below 1,100fps for less turbulance and best accuracy. I like shooting heavier pellets than the Kodiaks at that speed.
