Q:

Where to find Coozy-style foam rubber tube?

We call ’em Coozies in Michigan. You know ’em… they’re those foam-rubber drink holders that you put your beer or soft drink cans into to keep them cold in the summer.

About 3 1/8″ O.D., 2.5″ I.D., wall thickness of about 3/8″.

First of all, what’s the official name for this stuff? I assume it’s some sort of pipe insulation.

I ask because I’ve got two coozies in flat black butted together on my CO2 tank now. Works great…besides hiding the tank, it’s just tall enough to give a perfect cheek weld and eye/scope alignment.

But I’d like to get a longer length of it to make it a one-piece deal and clean up the look of the gun a bit. I’ve looked high and low at every plumbing and heating supply company in southeast Michigan and nobody carries it, nor can they tell me where to find it.

What’s it called, who makes it, and where can I find someone who sells it?

Any help?

You can use an old mouse pad also

I believe what you’re looking for is sheet neoprene. A dense foam?

What you want is standard stuff in SCUBA shops, it’s what wet suits are made of. Stuff comes on rolls in various thicknesses. Including fabric backing (which might work greate on the outside…..).

In another light you don’t want to be insulating your tank unless your rate of fire is real low.

You can get a neoprene sleeve from a paintball store, I think I paid $4.

It’s a neoprene type material. just noticed it at lowes yesterday. Pipe wrap, looks much more durable than the closed cell foam type stuff. largest they had was 1 1/4 ID though. Not sure where you should look for something of tank diameter.

It would definately be some sort of material used for pipe insulation if it exists. You can get small stuff for A/C copper lines and what not. Don’t know where you’d find that diameter.
