Q:

Scope setting

😕 I have had a new SS .22 since this time last year; Then bought the 18″ barrel. I am getting confused though. Options are great, but, so many! (By the way, this gun is awesome) I have a Leapers Scope that has a zoom up to x9 with mil dots. I’ve figured I ‘ll use x4 & x9. Of course the power setting goes to 13 but I have three settings I generally use, 3 – 8 – 11. Pellets? Beeman HP 18.2 gr. – Beeman extra heavy 21.1 gr. – Eunjin 28 gr. (I like these most) – Piledriver 30 gr. NOW to the root of my “Q”, I don’t know how even yet to figure out my scope in correlation with all the variables\differences! Different settings for different things of course and I have the plan to have cards listing scope settings+power settings+pellet type & grain = the mil dot to go by at a given distance. With ONE SHOT it needs to be a KILL! I just got a laser bore sight to save money & time setting this up; But ya know what? I’m confused as to setting my scope! How is it done? Duhh, right?

only thing that stays the same is the center X when using the zoom? I totally didn’t even think that. U serious? That’s cool. LoL

i use to set paintballs at 10 yard intervals…and then go back and try to shoot them, bring a pen and paper and wirte down where pellets are hitting at what zoom level, cause changing zoom levels changes the milldot aimpoint…only thing that stays the same is the center X when using the zoom
With having to refill my scuba tank, and buy pellets, I’m hoping for a way to just (mostly) use my bore sight. Every now and again I’ll have to shoot one to get the arch correct at a yardage but…. I do agree with you though about getting out there and just shooting.
