Scuba tank
My local dive shop has tanks for $100.00, however they only fill to 3000.
I have been told to fill my condor tank to 3100.
Before jumping on it, I know the numbers do not match. is there some way to make this work?

I have a steel tank I bought used with a new hydro inspection or whatever. The shop will fill it to 110% of rated capacity, which is 3300.
Make sure you get a steel tank. I don’t think they will do this with aluminum.
I got my scuba tank at my local shop for 140
Its a Luxfer 80cf tank with 3000psi + rating.
they had no problem filling it up to 3300-3400psi
I guess try to find another scuba shop that will fill it up higher for you.

It’ll work fine, just give you short fills.
As long as it is higher in pressure than your ‘fill when the pressure drops to’ number you’ll get partial fills. You’ll do fine, just get a few less shots per fill than you would if you could fill all the way up.
Many shops will fill tanks they sold you to higher pressures or cheaper. I’d consider where I was going to get it filled before where to buy it. You only buy once, but you’d be suprised how often you need to get more air…..
Even though they’re more expensive (and the fill adapters cost more), 4500 psi tanks are a real advantage if you can get them filled.
