Stock Talon tank with .25 barrel vs. hi-flow tank.
Some goodies makin a long trip to me, used .25 barrel, shroud and hi-flow tank, all tony’s work, wondering FPS on stock tank vs, hi-flow. Need to order a new hammer for new tank, go with AF, or is there a better choice? Thanks for lookin.

My AAA .25 Condor will do over 1040fps and shoot over 1000fps for the first 10 shots with the wheel set at 0 with Kodiaks. It can do better but the accuracy goes to hell at long ranges.
The barrel i have coming is a 24″. Any idea of the maximum efficient range it’s capable of? It’s gonna be long, but should be a big perfomance gain over the 18″ .22 i have now. If i’m half as pleased with it as i am with my gun, i’ll be happy. I’ve killed crows out to 80 yards with what i’ve got now. Any thing difficult about swapping barrels and hammers out? Recommended pellets? Thanks.

Look at this way, With a big hammer and valve work you can run your power wheel at 0 and work it up from there. 980fps can be done with the 42gr Eunjin’s and your looking at around 90fpe with them. Also with the big Surefire slugs the wheel can go up more and the power can get up over 100fpe. Just some of the nice things that can be done with a big hammer.
OK, I here what you’re saying, totally understand. I guess it’s good I got the bigger hammer coming in case I wanna go to the bigger slugs and stuff, need the juice for that. Right now I’m dealing with 31 gr Kodiaks, what I have now is fine. 100 FPE… man that’s incredible… I got the hammer coming, so I’ll definitly be checking out the bigger lead later at some point.
How much these are capable of. Thought i would be trading off a good deal of fps to get more knockdown power of the .25. Looks more like i might stay even or gain. Thanks for the input. Crows better watch out for me. Sounds like hundred yard shots will not be a problem for the gun, if i can do my part.

Here’s what I’m begining to wonder… I have a OLD stock delrin hammer, with a new heavier brass one getting ready to use. But if I’m already achieving max velocity/accuracy with my current stock hammer, with Condor striker weight, (PW at 8/9) is there really a up side to a heavier one? Just going faster really doesn’t seem to do me much good accuracy wise, and using more air to do it isn’t high on my list either…
I second that, a big hammer will wake things up some.
The Hi Flo tank I got came with a striker weight, did you get one with yours? Anyways just add the striker weight until you get a heavier hammer, works good. Need to know the lenght of your barrel for fps estimates.
My SS with 24″ barrel does around 800 FPS in .25. With the Hi flo and striker weight you can break over 1000 FPS easily, but I noticed my groups opened up passed 1000. I keep them down to 960/980 fps for better accuracy. (31 gr Kodiaks)
Get a 90-100 gram hammer from Tony to go with your other bits.

You will get more FPS out of the 24″ barrel and shooting over 100+ yards will not be a problem at all.
