Super Cheap Rangefinder
Just got back from the local LL Bean outlet – They had a returned Nikon Pro Staff Laser 440 for $99 (box hadn’t been opened)… plus an Extra 50% off Optics that day so I paid just over $50 including taxes !!
I already have a Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout… so now I just have to decide which one to keep and which to sell. So far the Nikon is beating the Bushnell in finish and size…. but the features are the same (nikon has 440 yards range, Bushnell 800 but that isnt a factor at the distances I shoot)….
Not a bad decision to have to make tho!

Eek, rather a plain-jane reticule there. Yeah, I know, I’m the kid who wants it all lit-up like an F16 instrument-panel with a bunch of SAMs heading in. 😆
That Bushnell wasn’t what I was expecting, the one I’ve seen is flat. Yours looks very similar to my Hawke.
I’ve been looking at scopes with built-in rangefinders. The holy-grail would be one into which you could input all ballistic data, then lase a target and have the reticule adjust itself automatically. Bit like the difference between gunning in a Panther vs an Abrahms. 😆

I went with the Hawke 600, seems to be doing a decent job but I’ve yet to test it on a rabbit. It’s in the same price-bracket as the Bushnell Pro-450 but goes x6 mag instead of x4 (which is why I chose it over the Pro).
Do you have a pic of the reticule on that Nikon YN?
It will be on eBay – and the guy who buys it from me wont get the deal I got…. 😆

The first rangefinder I had was flat, picked it because it could measure speed…. thing was massive and I never used the speed function (but it did work if something was coming directly toward / away from you).
I remember watching movies as a kid and they had the binoculars that had all the fancy flashing things in the display and always wanted one. So.. I might sell both and get one that measures angle too.
