Sounds to me like the Kodiak Match are a rip off. I can’t believe the only difference is .2 grains and that the match pellets have a greater variance in weight. WTF is that about ! What is the world coming to?
Well, i second photo22’s numbers. I should have said that the first time i posted.
When i measured 10 of each, i was not really impressed with the MATCH pellets. There were great variances from pellet to pellet that was more than what i thought it should have been. I have shot both in my rapid with all things being equal with each shot string and the REGULAR KODIAKS were actually better than the MATCH. And since i don’t target shoot or do FT then i see no point. Plus, the MATCH KODIAKS are not MATCH.
Maybe it’s for the two grains of extra confidence it gives those who don’t bother to read the fine print lol.
Looks like there’s less variance in weight on the normal Kodiaks… so maybe the extra $ is for the .2 grains in extra weight ???
Kinda looks like it goes against this.
Kodiak 3252 .25 31.00 0.8% 0.248 0.255
Kodiak Match 3253 .25 31.00 0.1% 0.248 0.255
(Taken from Beeman site.)
This is what I see in them.
Beeman Kodiak Match 30.9gr (.25)
1- 2.032g=31.35gr
2- 1.994g=30.77gr
3- 2.013g=31.06gr
4- 1.975g=30.47gr
5- 2.014g=31.08gr
6- 1.971g=30.41gr
Beeman Kodiak 30.7gr (.25)
1- 2.001g=30.88gr
2- 2.013g=31.06gr
3- 2.002g=30.89gr
4- 2.007g=30.97gr
5- 2.005g=30.94gr
6- 1.990g=30.71gr
I would say if you were in a competition it might be worth it, but for hunting i’d say save the extra money.
also the Match are 30.90 grains Kodiaks are 30.70 grains
(info from AOA pellet section)
Ah!!
Cheers LMSS
The match pellets have less size(opps that should say weight) deviation 0.1%vs. 0.8% per pellet.
I don’t see a difference in my particular Rapid or my Condor. Both use the LOTHAR WALTHER BARREL.
Whats the difference between the two?

yeah, that does suck cause i bought 2 tins of them. My other hunting buddy also had the same results in his 7 year old rapid 25. He also only shoots the Regular Kodiaks.
Guess that is why not too many people even talk about them.
