Rapid update
Been fixing the Lemon of a Rapid i got, now that Theoben USA couldnt do it right the first time it was back for repair tsk tsk
crown has been polished and hand finished with a roundheaded brass screw…this seems to have done the trick
transferport has some burrs in it, not really visible…but after polishing it pellets slide in alot smoother
transferport has been tapered, this added abot 2 to 5 fpe, and actually gave more high power shots on he same type of fill
factory mounts has been binned, and replace with a a dovetail to weaver mount i modded to fit…quite simple actually…about 1 hour of milling and it was done, it uses the factory mount threads, had to mill a little more material away than i like to, to accomodate the magazine, but it works good
some high quality steel quickrelase low mounts added, gives me the ability to take the scope of and stuff my eOtech on there fast
added a 1.25″ carbon fiber shroud to it…rifle is 1″ longer than with the standart barrel weight, but noise has been reduced about 50%, need to work more on it, and its 50 grams lighter than the barrel weight 😉 the cutout for the bottle was not as nice as i had hoped, but you dont really see it unless your looking for it…need to see if it affects accuracy of the rifle…..damn hard to get the shroud right as the barrel has been bent by theobenUSA to compensate for droop…this meant i had to make the tolarances a little looser to compensate.
Swift222 drilled the stock for quickfill, and i mounted the parts for it…thos mod is a definate must !
given that i was able to take squirrels at 100-150 yards i think its whole lot better than wht is was when i got it
if you dont have the tools or money to get it tuned….dont buy a Rapid ! they are crap right out of the box

god mate looks like your haveing fun .not .
i,m in the same postion as u i got a mk1 rapid in .22 and i,ve pulled it all apart right back to the block
so far i,lve pollsihed the bolt and the inner and outer probes and i got a 19″barrel still got to get new spring kit and a bit off porting to do
it was a .20 but i,m changeing it to .22

right now keeping it….since the .25 is a real thumper compared to even more powerfull .22 …and i would loose too much on selling…
Glad to see it up and running. What an ordeal. Are you gonna keep it or sell it and get another AA410?

I would not trust any manufacture to repair my rifle.
Sent my Condor to AF for repair back in 2003.
I spoke to Tom Gaylord and told him that when I fill to 3000psi.
I get valve lock.
Also had a problem of the Condor going off by its self after I took off the safety.
Sent my Condor to them and they put a different sears spring in and for the fill they said that my gauge was incorrect.
Well, I was shooting the Condor and it went off again without pulling the trigger and I tried a different gauge and noticed that I had valve lock until 2400psi.
Solution= I worked on my Condor and fixed it. Now it’s a beast!!
Thats what make AF guns so popular. You can mod and repair yourself.
Last week I took my AA410 out and my groups are like 3 to 4 inches at 40yards. I suspect the o-ring in the breech needs to be replaced. I usually get 1/2″ groups at 50yards.
If its not one thing it’s another.
With airguns, its better to learn how to fix and mod them yourself.
I have a lot of fun working on them.
