Small HPA Tanks Output?
Hiya Folks,
I was curious about getting a smaller ( 4500psi) tank to take in the field to refill the rifle. I can’t seem to find out if the smaller 4500psi tanks will allow me to use a regulator and fill the rifle tank to 2800psi. I talked with a guy at a local PB shop and he says that most of the smaller 4500psi tanks, like the gorilla only have a max 600psi output, which would be worthless as far as a field tank.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

There’s an alternate worth considering IMO. In the field I take a ‘pony bottle’ I bought from Air Hog. It’s not the one they normally have, it’s 17 cu ft, less than 4 inches in dia and about a foot and a half long. It has the same built in fill adapter the bigger tanks from AH have. It’s very light and easy to carry, I do so in a ‘over the shoulder’ case a tripod came in.
It’s easy enough to top up several times from the 88 cu ft tank, and each one fills the rifle several times.

I just found a site that has all scba tanks and adapters – even for AF rifles for very cheap. Bout $225 for a 88 cuft and $155 for 44cuft, all with at least 8 or more years on life.
Now to find a place to get it filled..lol

There are a gaggle of these smaller ( 48-78ci 4500psi) tanks out there. Do they have a valve that will allow a safe refill if there is a guage in the loop. I just dont want to blow a rupture disk, or overfill and have to deal with venting to make it safe for the gun.
If someone has a photo of a setup similar to this that would be awesome.

Small, you do not need a regulator for filling as you will control the fill pressure. You do need a guage in the fill connection.
A small tank is indeed handy for field topups and could be carried in a pack.
