Dual optics on a SS?
Now that I have my talon all set up, my first call was let the air out of some pigeons…no problemo right..wrong..the shots are all inside a drive through car wash..longest shot maybe 40′ if I push it..way to close for my 6x24x50..I’m thinking of putting a old red dot on there I have laying in my gun safe, have any of you ever seen a mount to have both the scope and the red dot on there? I also have a old mini 14 scope mount I could cut in half and tig back together to make one and may have to,but would like to see some others first. thanks!!

yaeh now we’ll just laser them with pellets
Wildlife damage control agents sometimes use lasers to scare birds out of buildings where they cannot shoot so that should tell you something about using a laser for pigeons.

Well. that just saved me about $65 clams.. now I can go buy extra BEER…thanks!!!!!
Lasers are great for the reasons indicated… but dont think you’ll put a laser dot on a pigeon. Scares the shit out of them. I tried that once and never could get a shot off. They see that dot and they are gone.

I’m with Triggerman a green laser is a nice close range setup and some work great in daylight at close ranges. My 50mm scope has a min. focus of 15 yards so inside that range I can use the laser and still get a good sight pic on the target.
That’s a damn good Idea. never would have thought of it that way.

high see through rings for the scope on the scope rail…..then mount a reddot in front of the scoperail in a height where you can see through the rings and still see the dot

I’ve got a red laser, but daylight kills it so that option looks pretty bleak for you. However, my brother has an SS and bought a green laser from ebay and that thing kicks ass, day and night. They are around $50 bucks and here is a link to one similar. You can see it at night hit objects WAY further than you can shoot and daylight it can be seen out to 100 yds.
I have thought of that, I do have two red dots laying around but no lasers..I have never shot a gun with a laser..would it work ok in the daylight? I’ll probably be shooting on my lunch break, also, what is the range on the lasers? thanks!
Why not just put a laser on the rail and sight in for the distance you want to shoot?

I have seen some scope rings that have rails ( weaver/picatinny) on the top and both sides. that would give enough flexability to find a mounting position that would be usable for ya. The maker of the rings is Counter Sniper. I am considering getting some aswell, they come in med and high mount.
