Weighing pellets? What’s a good scale, etc?
I figure this topic has been well covered already. Can someone point me to a relevant thread?
Does weighing pellets help to get rid of occasional fliers?
If yes, what’s a scale with good repeatability and good “bang for the buck”. Couldn’t pass up that pun..

Repeatability is a big deal, cheap scales will not do well unless you keep re-zeroing them (pain in the ass)…
The Cabela’s one is nice and most of the good reloading scales should do well in the repeatability department.

I have a BAR in .338 and this one would have plenty of capacity for weighing a lot of components in my reloading.
Fast recovery time is important to me, also.

I needed a good scale for weighing out pellets for field target and bench rest competition and I went with the Cabelas XT 1500 for about $80.00. I have damaged a very costly scale and purchased this scale only because they had it in stock. It has proved to be very precise and has a fast recovery time. I am sure there are cheaper one but if you have a Cabelas close by this is an option and you don’t have to pay shipping. If you don’t like it you just take it back. I like mine and use it a great deal.

Thank you for your input. I’ll look at that brand for sure. I like that it’s very portable and really like the extra fine accuracy compared to some of the competition. The price is great, too!
I have a .22 rimfire target rifle, so weighing that ammo will also put it to good use!

I use a MyWeigh Flip Scale. Like it a lot

I use mine mostly to weigh rimfire ammo.
Weighing makes a difference on some inexpensive ammo.
It is about the size of a small calculator.
Advertised accuracy is 1/2 of one tenth of a grain.

When I’m shooting targets, stringers piss me off. I’m early retired, so I figure weighing pellets will give me something to do while I’m sitting around watching re-runs of Futurama.

I use the RCBS from my reloading setup,very accurate. now with that said I only weigh one every once and a wile out of curiosity, I don’t get all crazy and “mach” the pellets, just don’t see the need.

Thanks to everyone who gave input. I went with the MyWeigh MXT100 purchased from Old Will Knot Scales online for about $40 bucks.
It’s supposed to be a great scale for the price with .1 grain resolution. It’ll weigh up to 1500 grains as well. It’s a very small pocket scale, so probably not for high volume reloading or anything. I doubt weighing pellets will wear it out much.
I’ll let ya’ know if it’s consistent or not..
