Center drilling delrin rod…
I am attempting to build a shroud similar to the ones that Don creates for my SS, using delrin for the insert, rather than aluminum, and making the outer part from an old Maglite I have sitting around. I know it would probably be easier just to have Don make me one, but I thought I would give it a shot first, just to see if I could do it. So, anyhow, the part I am having the most trouble with is center drilling the damn rod – I don’t have a lathe, but I do have a drill press and a vise that has inserts which allow me to hold rod upright while I drill. The problem I am having, however, is getting the hole dead center in the middle of the rod. Anyone have any advice, given my limitations, that would allow me to put a hole lengthwise through the center of 6 inches or so of delrin rod?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Naah, looks like he’s got the swimming down, that’s probably the first time at the public pool when a fat chick in a BIKIN waved and batted her eyes at him. 😛
