Q:

can you recommend a red dot sight?

I have a crossman pistol that I have been messing with and have determined that I need a red dot sight for it. I bough the mount that will allow anything with a 3/8 inch dovetail to mount on there. I want something better than the crossman or daisy $20.00 sights but not as expensive at the $400 EOtech.

Can anyone give me a recommendation for one that they have used and are happy with?

I will also consider a rail to change to a weaver mount but I would rather not if I can avoid it.

Thanks

quote Yellow Ninja:

Why didnt you have that eotech when I had the gen 3 ?

cause i didnt have the money for one….B50 sponsored the eotech

i bought it about a year ago

if i where to do it again i would buy a bushnell i think…allmost half price…but i wanted the NV capeability as i thought i was going to get a new night vision….but second gen mono’s have gone up 2-400$….so now im waiting for a visit from YN so i can see his elcan….and the digital NV has gotten quite good even some of the cheap ones…so might just get one of those

cygnus x,

When did you get that eotech from E bay? I sold one via auction on E bay for 380.00 Just curious if that is it???

ebay has some reddots with 4 different riticles you can change between…i got one of them and its been pretty good for the 30 bucks you can find it for…..cabelas, and pyra sells the same for 70 bucks last i checked

plus is thats its cheap and fairly accurate…minus is that in full blown californian sun / dessert setting it could use a bit more brightness ! and the adjustments are not as nice as the eotech (but whats to be expected…its costs way less)

i got an eotech 551 and it its freaking awesome, dot is laserdrawn and not diode…and it can get super bright, so bright that it appears bright even in direct sunligt…and mine got the NV function as well, price was 380 on ebay…be very carefull buying those on ebay…there are clones selling like the real thing and they are not even close !

4reticle ebay thingy

tasco…the mounting things are far appart can be hard to mount

downside is that the eotech sits so high, upside is that its very strongly built

bushnells holo sights are now produced by eotech as well, same thing, except the bushnell lags the ruggedness of the eotech…but still a very good reddot

nice thing about the eotech is the auto shutoff feature….and 400 hours runtime on a set of batteries….

I have a wally world special bsa 1x red dot and it works very well. $44.00 or so.

Bushnell has their Holo-Sight for around $260: I think it’s made by Eotech, and has the 65 MOA Circle, with 1MOA Dot.

If that Bushnell Holo-Sight is anything like the Eortech I used today, I recommend getting it.

Shot this group today at 50 yards (only one at 50 yards today) off a bipod with EPP/UG’s@750fps, using my friend’s early production run SamYang 909, and Eotech red-dot hologram-sight. Also at 25 yards. Gotta get a holo-sight for my 909 now! 1 inch groups at 50 yards with no magnification, and both eyes open capability sounds good to me.

He made an extra 909-drilled picatiny rail, that I bartered off of him.

Bushnell and Millett after trying many different types, prices, etc.
You can get these for $50 – $70
