20′ indoor setting?
I’ve only about 20′ to try and set my scope good for tomorrows grouse hunt. They will be about (average) 10 – 25 yds. out. My scope goes down to 5 yds. (& up to 200). It’s so close, should I just guess, or is a method of figure available?

I’d guess, set your scope about 1/2 in. higher at 20 yrds. that would give you a 30 yrd. shot, and at 25 it would shoot alittle high so aim for the belle or lower back, this would be right on for the long shot if you have to make one.
I have gone grouse hunting in the mountains over near Darrington, Wa and whenever you see a patch of sunny snow it would be covered in grouse prints. Blue grouse are very common in this area and it’s pretty easy to shoot ’em. Though this year I’ve managed only to shoot one. I never got to eat it as the bird fell over a 300 ft dropoff…… But to make a long story short, grouse are somewhat easy prey over here.
I dunno. but see Cyg’s post in the Main about wearing eye protection.
And if ya don’t mind me asking, how the hell do you shoot a grouse with an air rifle? Even using dogs, we’re lucky to scare up less than a dozen in a day, and our kill ratio is less than 50%… and we’re using freakin’ shotguns, no less.
Are we talking about the same type of grouse?

Yaa; thats what I’ve heard also. Like, 15 – 20 yds. or so.
I have a cheap MalMart (WalMart) red laser and plan to work an intigration of it to the shot. So, maybe not so much my scope?
