Would like your opinions please on these two pellets.

Never noticed until now….but the pellets shown in the can are NOT the ones on the lid of the Discovery. Those look a whole lot like the current 5mm Cylindericals. Think they just photo-shopped the Discovery label on an old picture?

Checked…it is a photo-shop job. The picture of the .22 and .177 on the PA site is identical…and both are showing pellets that match the 5mm cylinericals.
Not to sound cynical…. but BC, pellet shape, voodoo, and all those other things doesnt really tell you if the gun will group a certain pellet.
….now, if you have two or three pellets that group really well in a gun….sure, then look at BC, but I wouldnt worry much about it in the interim.
That HW97 of mine is .22 and is shooting a bit hot at 17fpe. JSB Exacts… throws them all over the paper. Premiers…. scattergun. But put RWS Hollow point pellets in it and it will group ragged hole groups at 35 yards all day long and easy 1 inch groups at 50 yards. Makes no sense to me!
I believe the BC’s are rather low. Take a look at this chart.

I know your right about that Rob. Do you think the hollow point would have the edge in B.C.? Because it has to make up that weight somewhere.
You just never know. Both could perform stellar, both could suck ass.
With springers, even different guns of the same model will shoot differently.
I have an HW97LK that only shoots RWS HP’s really well. My R1 will ONLY shoot FTS’s well. If I shoot JSB’s through it, it will be about 8 inches off to the right and group around 4 inches at 30 yards.
I have a couple of RWS 34’s. One prefers the 10.5’s, one prefers JSB Express.
With springers, there is no magic pellet. Your best bet is to get a sampler packet and try them.
For a gun like the RX1, I’d suggest trying these… in this order…. JSB Heavy, CPH, JSB Exact, CPL. …but thats no guarantee that either of those will work.
Anyone who tells you that X pellet will always shoot well in X springer is blowing smoke up your ass.

Buy a tin of each and try them down the range and you will soon see which perform best in your barrel.
From my own experiment domed pellets are the most accurate, the flat head or hollow point are supposed to be good where you are shooting at close range ie ratting and want to avoid a ricochet.
Pointed ones are there to attract shooter not kill more vermin.
I’ve dropped many bunnies with domehead out to 60+ yards with no complaints, it’s all about shot placement.
Experimenting is half the fun.
