CO2 adapter and carbon fiber HPA paint ball tanks.

Is this an established route to lots of moderate power shots in cold weather? Any pitfalls or safety issues to be avoided? I’ve read on here that you can shim the HPA tanks for more regulated pressure than the standard of 850psi. Do you have to modify the co2 adapter valve when that is done?
