high mount scoope question?
With a set of Leaper high mounts and a Nikko NightEater 6-24 x 56mm scoope on my new condor I had to shim my rear mount a lot to bring the POI up. Is this normal? Or am I missing something here? Also what would you recommend to shim a scoope with? Thanks Ron

What distance you trying to zero it?
If its closer than 20 yards you WILL have problem with your Big scope.
Scopes on our guns sit pretty high (mine is 3.5 inch from the barrel)
Try to Zero it in at 25-35 yards and use laser for closer 10 yards shooting.
I had to shim the scope on my Condor also as I ran out of elevation with a Bushnell 5×15.. I was using a tri-rail and a BKL 360 one piece mount. I just used very thin sheets of plastic cut to size, just about like the 35 mm film. It did take care of the problem.

I had to do it with my talon, I actually ran a set screw through the rear of my riser, I did find out while researching this problem that many people use 35mm film..I think it is about .005 thick..

Strange… I didn’t have to shim anything with my Nighteater with high rings and tri rail. Didn’t run out of elevation at all. I think 30mm tubes give you more adjustment as well, which mine is. But I’m thinking the OP’s Nighteater is 30mm also?
