painting alum.
i was just wondering what the best wat to paint alum is so that you do not have to repaint it all the time. i tried primer made for alum first but still did not help and i did degease the part first. i was thinking of the paint made for plastic or asid eching (sp?) the alum part. any ideas? i am looking for flat black of course. thanks

there’s gun kote which needs to be baked
or aluma- hyde which dose not need to be baked

I use moly-resin on my aluminum parts, it needs to be applied with an airbrush (cheapo kind from Harbor Freight works well) and you need to cook it in an oven at 300 degrees for an hour to cure it.

Actually, I was kinda hoping you came back and said you did it at home. Then we could have got you to give us a lesson or thoughts on the subject. I see the El Cheapo kit at Harbor Freight and always wonder if its worth a damn or not.
