Q:

Condor 12" barrel and ss endcap

Condor 12″ barrel and endcap question. I notice a few threads on this topic but they don’t really answer my questions. Since i am in california where its the most Gun Suspicious/scared people with laws and more laws, this is about somewhat quieting the gun a bit without having an illegal silencer/shroud/moderator. Plus i want something that is a bit shorter at times. Also has anybody done what this guy did in this video?

If so do you think this would work with an endcap on a condor? Any idea if it would really affect accuracy? I like my condor but i would like a stealth powerful quiet hard hitter that i can also swap in my 24″ barrel when needed. 😈

If anyone has a 12″ barrel on their condor with endcap, can you tell me how loud it is and what power settings you use with what pellets? I have kodiaks right now. THanks

Thanks WOK. P.M. sent.

Sam,

The Condor Frame and the Talon SS frame are the same length. So yes with a 12″ bbl it will work….but not great at full power

Hey WOK with the 12” barrel you can build the shroud INSIDE the frame?

Yes, on the SS model you can add baffles and spacers to decrease the report.

Sorry about this WOK, I should of been specific. I ASSume (you know what they say about that) It will work the same for a condor???

That vid was done by a member here. He learned how to do it on the forum. While it will decrease your condor a bit it will not silence it.

If you do not want to put on a shroud then you will have to stuff some stuff in your frame.

You might as well and experiment on what works best for you.

Ryan,

I love my Condor with it’s 12″ barrel and SS endcap. I just love how the gun handles, it feels perfect to me.

I vented my front bushing first, but not the frame. It changed the pitch of the report, but I still have doubts that it did much to actually quite the discharge of the gun. I have no plans to vent my frame -I don’t see how that can have any effect on slowing the blast/hushing the gun UNLESS it has some kind of material in it like SS wool, scotchbrite pad, etc. to help slow the air or muffle the sound.

I then did the standard spring/washer/o-ring/washer repeat X9 thing and think the sound level came down, but only minimally at best. Again, it changed the pitch of the report, but did not quite the gun as much as I had hoped for or expected it would after reading of others atesting to a big decrease in sound in their posts.

One thing is for sure, my Condor is a little heavier now, but I like a forward weight bias anyway so I don’t mind the additional weight and even think it aids in the guns handling.

I am sure one of the inserts a few members here make probably work pretty well, based on the fact that in their design they closely mimic the design of “real” silencer and their methods of disbursing the air and slowing it’s flow is very similar to those, but I am going to try WOK’s scotchbrite pad and spring setup before I resort to making something along the lines of an insert.

I don’t know what others report on what is effective other than what I read in their posts, but the above is my take on my efforts and so far I remain overwhelmingly unimpressed.

in short it will work fine w/ a 12″er and an end cap, but will be loud as hell!

the vid jooleyen made will help a bit but you will have better results with something like jaybirdo did, or there are lost of ideas in the “shroud” section.

Use a micro-tank from airforce, less power is less noise. May be domes or pointed pellets will be quieter. I put this stuff in mine from the Home Despot:
