From CO2 to HPA…. what do I need?
Planning on going over to the HPA side over the next few months to keep me occupied and sane during another Michigan winter.
I’ve got a good idea what needs to be bought, but I’d like to clear up a couple questions I have.
I’ve got a .22 Talon SS with a 24″ barrel, no other mods are far as I know.
Tank: I’m thinking Hi-Flo just because it’s the biggest and baddest, but if I do that, I’ll need a new hammer, correct? How much do I lose, performance-wise, if I settle for the standard Talon tank?
Scuba tank: I’ll be hunting for used, but what’s the best “workhorse” to look for? Not looking for state-of-the-art, just the setup that provides the most bang for the buck. I’m a bit confused with all the PSI ratings and whatnot.
Fittings, hoses, etc.: What do I need in terms of hooking up the scuba tank to the gun’s tank?
Sorry for asking these stupidly basic questions, but a lot of the HPA posts here have gone so advanced that it’s tough for this newb to see the forest from the trees.

Yeah, there’s a couple scuba shops around here. Might be able to get some help from the local FD as well.
What’s the verdict on that Luxfer 106cf package for $469?
And again, if I go for the Hi-Flo, I’ll need a new hammer, correct? What’s a good weight to get?
First you need to know if you have a place that can fill a scuba tank near by and is it ceasy to get there.
If you do, then the largest 3000psi+ tank you can afford.
Then you need the yoke set up for airforce guns to attach to that scuba tank.
If you have a location that can fill a 4500 breathing tanks then that is better. Here is a place that has good set up for you.

If you do not have a place that can fill that then dont buy it.
The other option is to buy a Hill Pump and fill it yourself.

The Talon Tank with a 24″ barrel would be my choice in .22. I personally would choose the high flow for .25
If you do get the high flow you will need the weight. But you probably like the standard tank with that 24″
Also ask the scuba shop if they can fill a paintball tank. If they can then they can fill the 4500psi tank for you.
