Hey people of this forum; I heard th this [ is a pretty good item ].
➡ I have a TSS with an 18″ barrel. Can this work for this barrel dia.? Some of you know about this.
I can afford to spend (ya right) 40 on this (instead of a green laser). Or, do I want the threaded kind, or what?

Been drink’N & it’s late, so, sorry if miss spelled and all that. plus whatever else is not understanable. Happy New Year.
OK… Ya well, I don’t do good with the pics here; So I’ll write some out. Since I can talk a while F’n lot I’ll do that….
Two inch dia. PVC by 7 inch long. I got rings (washers-plastic\nylon) that are a bit larger than the inside dia. of the tube (PVC). 5 of them. I dremeled a ring out of the inside orf the tube at various distances. Got a PVC pipe that fits exactly into the inside hole of the washers and drilled it out alot at the tip end so the air is guided out through there mostly before it would escape out side the end. Drilled holes (1\2″ at five of them to start with) in the washer starting at the tip end. Not the cap washer; The firstone inside. Then made more holes yet smaller dia. so to let “more” air through toward the back (toward me the shooter). I also drilled about 14 holes at 1\16″ about two inches back from the large air redirect holes in the tip end. Meaning I started them right next to those and went 2″ back from there. The very last or BACK washer (closest to the rear) has five 1\2″ holes and four 1\8″ holes so more air is let out toward “me” the shooter. This is to exhaust or “tired”-slow the air down. The speed of the air is what makes the sonic “crack”. So, slowing it down thus reduses the heard sound. I put on an end cap washer (nothing on the rear) on the front and pushed it on the barrel tip (3\4″) nicely. The 2″ pipe slides up the frame outside real nice and fit abou 1″. Four (4) grub screws to keep it straight and that’s it. Woops, I packed or layered it withpadding. My intension was to not pack so tight as to let air move through it. But I think I did to tight. $12 and did better than nothing, yet learned to do it well next time.

OK, did it. I’m sure if ida had more patience it would be beter\quieter, but it was fun anyway and I don’t mind $12 ta do it again and better.
Result? At 2 AM Sun night I stepped out the door and popped it off with the suppressor on and the power wheel on #2. Upsettingly was louder than hoped for (I packed the inside to tight for the air to travel as intended). Took it off and popped one off. Damn! It does work some! The second shot (with out it on) had a bit of a “crack!” and echo bounced through some houses! When I had it on, it didn’t do that..
SO $12 once more and I hope I will be happy for more than a month 😆

Well, I’m gonna do what many of me poor folks do (will probably be damn quiter to), that is make my own from Ace hardware.

I got a 2″x 6″ long, pvc, got some washers that the inner hole fits NICE & snug over the last little bit of mt 18″ barrel and the outside is an 1/8″ larger than the inner diameter of the PVC pipe; I’ve used my Dremel to make rings inside the PVC for the washers to fit into. I then have an extension of the barrel (inside of the silencer) running through it. I’m going to drill exhaust holes in it toward the far end, when air (excess) goes out those it will then be directed back through to the rear of the 2″ PVC after going through first smaller holes drilled in the washers on back with the holes getting larger. At the same time I cut off some padding from one of those “gut buster” – “cruch” workout deals and then cut it into various lengths to go between the washers (this paddinghas an inside dia. of over an inch & a thickness of about 3/8″). I’m gonna stuff something in that area between each washer. The rear of it (facing back toward me) has the largest hales (only two). Oh, I’m thinking maybe a grug screw(s) to the frame as it goes back over it 1 1/2″. Already sprayed it with flat black. looks real good, and thinking (hoping) It’s gonna work great; for near the public use and such.
You know I’ll be posting some comments on how it does.

This one was removable and it had no vents. The gun sounded just as loud as all the other .223’s. For all I know it was illegal, and no one noticed.
I am pretty sure those barrel extensions are suppose to be pinned which makes them permanently affixed.
If you could just screw it off that kind of defeats the purpose of the extension meeting legal length requirements.
I remember while living out there “extended flash supressors” being permanently affixed to shorter barrels to get them by the legal limit on barrel length. It could not be a solid tube with an endcap though, always had multiple vents of some kind at the muzzle which normally made the gun even louder.
a stipulation to get past the short barrel law is that it must be permanently affixed though; if it is removable, then it does not count.
A case of idiocracy perhaps.
That may be, but why did california require him to have one to make his rifle legal? He got the thing at the gun store he bought his gun at.
I was at the shooting range last sunday with a friend of mine, and some friends of his. One of them had an ar-15 type weapon with a 12″ barrel. In cali, your barrel must be at least 16″. To fix the problem and make his gun legal, he was GIVEN a “fake” suppressor to attach to the end of the barrel. This was not some crappy homemade tube, it was made by a big name company. The “fake” suppressor was an aluminum tube with an endcap drilled for a .223 bullet, and was needed to make his gun legal. Unlike airguns, a hollow tube suppressor on a firearm will no quite the report down. If there is no baffles, you are pretty safe.
I’m sure that an empty shroud would quiet the report of a firearm by at least 1dB, and that is all that is required by law. That change will not be definate to the human ear.

i drilled 32 small holes about 4″ of the way down my barrel (this is to let the pressure and noise escape) then i made a sleeve about 6″ long with holes drilled in it that leaves about a 1/4″ of an inch between itself and the barrel (now the air has something to escape into) then another tube outside of that sleeve with a cavity of about 1/2″ which i then packed with wire wool, i machined a tapered part to attach the tubes to and fit to my barrel with a grub screw, and ground down a washer for the other end, the exit hole was about 6mm which is nice and snug for a .177 pellet, for a .22 pellet i would reccomend about 9mm.
its a bit of a fiddle but once u get ur measurements right it all lines up and the pellet travels freely through the silencer.
thats a basic silencer, the one which i have recently made has 3 stages and is 8″ long, and about 2″ in diameter, finally powdercoated satin black and baked on, it looks the dogs danglies, and all you can hear is a slight click when the rifle is fired, which is really impressive for a 28ft/lb SuperTen.
check this… its even quieter than the bull barrel model, and this little bit of money and labour ammounts to about 5 quid and a couple hours.
now.. do you really wanna spend 30 notes on a cheap and in-effective silencer? or have some fun and satisfaction making one like i did?
so basically i say dont buy this silencer, if you really want to *pay* for a silencer then i suggest paying for a Logun (if it fits your rifle) but making your own is far cheaper and more effective in my experience.”
