Questions for AA S410 Owners
I’m getting closer to purchasing an s410 and have questions for those of you that own them.
1.
What scope, and mounts are you using on your s410’s. medium or high. For starters I will be using a Crosman centerpoint 4-16×40 so will medium height rings work ok?
2.
I want to play with chairgun, anyone know the scope height I can plug in for medium and for high mounts?
3.
As long as the gun likes them I think I will be shooting the .22 JSB exact pellets what is the average velocity you are getting with them?

I don’t really prefer SR12 over a mildot. It just happened that all my mil-dot scopes are taken by other guns, but I had this one collecting dust, so that’s the one I put on S-410. Very interesting reticule and adj. power. The gun itself is capable of 100+ yards shots on small game. I only shot it at 50 yards which is my zero, and on a calm day 0.5″ groups are piece of cake.

My .22 crow magnum with Leupold 3-9×33 EFR scope is waiting at Pomona Airguns, he assured me he has a buyer that wants it after the 1st. of the year and is willing to pay $1000 for the crowmagnum. As soon as it sells I will have the funds to reinvest into a s410.
Though I would love to have the walnut thumbhole, I am just going to pick up the
s410E side lever beech stock, since I am planning to use it for hunting where it is bound to get beat up, scratched up, or dinged.
Steve at Pomona-airguns seems confident that the buyer will come through. He has already reserved one of the s410s for me, and taken it off the shelf so it won’t be sold.
If that buyer backs out, I may just have him send the gun back to me to sell here or on the yellow.
Anyway I am going to order the scope mounts on Medium mounts on Monday, so all I think I will be lacking is some sling studs, and the a male foster fitting with the right threads to connect to the AA fill adaptor. Then I should be all set to play. (am I missing anything?)
[ambush Hunter] how do you like your Hawke scope, to you prefer that over a mill dot scope? Why?
I was reading about it and I already had the hawke software installed on my computer. How far are you accurately able to reach out with it on your s410?
I am going with the centerpoint 4-16 for now because I just happen to have a new one on hand. But if I am fortunate enough to end up with a s410, I’m sure I be looking to upgrade the optics in the future.

1. I use Hawke 6-18×44 SR12 with Beeman medium 2 Pc mounts. No need for high mounts unless you go with 56+mm scopes. You’ll have to play with rings and scopes to make sure your mag. is free.
2. Once you set all up, measure the hight and plug it in. Don’t rely on that software too much, it’s just a software; real-world experiences may vary. Usually it’s 1.5″-1.75″
3. Test several pellets and stick with the most accurate one. JSB 15.8 gr. will produce 30-33 FPE depending on temperature, humidity, elevation, etc. Should be somewhere between 900-950 FPS.
Here’s what I can tell you, I have a s410 in 177 and I love her she is well made ,has a great feel and shoots like a laser. 😀 I have a ZOS 10 to 40 by 60 and used high mounts. Now as for the other questions I am not very high tec, 😕 the guys keep asking me how many shots on a fill. and my response is a shit load. You are going to love it, have fun and lets see some pic;s when you get her home.

I would recommend the JSB 5.52mm 16gr my old S410 FAC was doing 900FPS, 30shot per fill from 200 to 150bar. I was able to shoot half mag in one hole at 30m.
Sold it, got a S400 FAC Sidelever (second hand, as was the S410) for Christmas that I can’t use because I need a new adaptador for the bottle… Need to charge it, try it and chrono it.
I’ll post some pics on other thread.
I think you’ll be astonished by the performance of this rifle, it’s very accurate for long range accuracy, not as much power as others… but still you can shoot where you want.
Also you can do some power upgrades, try to do some woodwork, if you like use some vinyl carbon fiber on the reservoir.
I’ll give a try on making a new stock, thinking in use the mill to accelerate the process, currently short on time…
