(relatively) inexpensive target air/22lr rifle?
Does anyone know of a good but inexpensive .22lr or air rifle? I really want something I can practice target shooting with at times I can’t shoot my blaser. I could get a .22lr kit for the blaser, but 1600 bucks was a little steep for that.
OR
Does anyone know if I could find circle sights that would fit on the condor? That would work….
This target shooting stuff is fun. 😀

I’ve got an Anschutz 1517 MPR in .17 HMR and several rimfire CZs.
The CZs are exceptional values and as accurate as anything else.
Off the shelf they have shot better than some customs I have shot.
I also shoot a custom 10/22. Fun for a semi, but nowhere near as accurate.
I would be hard pressed to ever buy a rimfire in anything other than CZ or Anschutz.
I would say a CZ is cheap for what you are getting in return!

Go check out the local BR scene, see what those guys are using.
Every time the bolt strips and chambers a new cartridge it (the bolt) nicks the bullet below it… It’s happened on every 10/22 I’ve ever shot. Sometimes it affects accuracy a lot, sometimes not much… I’ve converted my 10/22 to .17HM2. Now it’s a SHOOTER 8)

i cant recommend the thompson center r55 model, before i got mine all i read was how great they are, afterwards from all on the range was how fuzzy they are with the ammo.
mine will only shoot CCI green tag accurately, they run 15 bucks for 100 shots (compared to wallmart crap ammo where you get 550rnd for 17 bucks)

Inexpensive can be viewed in a couple ways: original purchase price, or
depreciation loss after you sell it.
Buying a used Anshutz .22lr rifle, you will be able to sell it for what you paid, if you ever sell it. If you have the coin, this is what I would recommend, and it’s popularity should be worth something.
If you want “cheap” new production rifle, buy a CZ 452 ultralux for ~$300. Add a diopter rear and aperature front sight, and get Brooks’ trigger kit for $10 or whatever it is now. The 28.75″ barrel makes sense with iron sights.
There are other target .22’s made over the years, you could probubly find a great used one allready setup how you want if you look in the right places.
Alternatively, with a similar amount of work; you cold add a dipter rear sight and aperature front of your condor (like the pictures of the Edge) You would have to make a front sight riser, or adapt a Lipski or whatnot so it’s high enough. Anshutz and other euro makers sell diopter rear sights that clamp to an 11mm rail.

Also offered in 22wmr. IMHO 22lr is great for plinkin cheap, but the accuracy isn’t there with cheap ammo, and the good match stuff is as expensive as hmr ammo. My hmr will do 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards if i do my part, and man i love that accu trigger. Breaks like a glass rod. As a plus, they make the critters just explode! 😈 Volquartsen makes some badass rimfire stuff as well, bring the checkbook.
