need help choosing
a laser sight for my talon. i have looked at most of them but just dont trip my trigger . thought about a barrel mount but would consider a scope mount by the way my scope is a leapers with 30 mm tube. i didnt see any for the 30mm tube! any suggestions ? my price range is up to 100.00 thanks kingpin

ok thanks to all my teachers and all service people . just picked my bsa laser its good for about 45 yards if its not to bright out. in the daylight it fades out 39.00 @ natchez!? kingpin
Hey Buzzcat, what’s the maximum “Broad daylight” useful range of that green laser? 50 yards? Does it stay on sight once sighted in?

Red or Green?
There’s a green one for sale all over the place that’s going for about $80 or so. It’s obviously the same/same ChiCom model and just re-badged for whichever company happens to be selling it. If you look at the Leapers green laser, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.
I bought one of them on ebay (not a Leapers though), and I like it so far. Good visibility in daylight, and the beam width stays tight enough for government work (about an inch or so at 35 yards).
What’s different about the one I have (and it’s the reason I bought it), is that it has windage and elevation screws and caps just like a scope does. No messing around with allen wrenches, which I considered a plus.
What I don’t like about it is that the pressure switch is a little balky. Depending on where you press it, the laser may or may not glow at full power. Seems to be more of an issue after it goes unused for a bit… after I press the switch a few times, it works like it should. Not sure if that’s fixable, other than to replace the switch.
One other thing, you’ll need a dovetail-to-weaver adapter if you plan to use the mount that comes with it. However, the laser fits perfectly in a one-inch scope ring, so you can go that route (like I did) and not bother with the adapter if you don’t want to.

That’s a great question that I’d love to answer… but I’m sitting in the middle of a Michigan Winter and I haven’t seen “broad daylight” in about three months. For the record, it’s about 8 degrees here and we’re getting another six inches of snow. 😯
At this point, all I can tell you is that it’s a strong beam out to about 35 yds or so (looking through a scope) at midday in a rare winter “sunny and blue sky” day.
As far as holding zero… again, I haven’t had to chance to put it through its paces yet, but it appears to be solid, mounted in a Weaver ring… truth be told, I’m only expecting “minute of beer can” out of it… anything above and beyond that I’ll consider to be a bonus. But we shall see.
Don’t know if that helped, sorry I can’t provide more info yet, but I’m distracted these days… this Global Warming thing is really alarming me. It’s going to warm up to 17 degrees tomorrow! The horror! 😉
