Ar the hammer on the condors with the new (chrony update)
highflow tanks the same weight as the hammers on the older Condors? I just came back from the range where I shot my Condor for the first time outside. Shooting CPs (.22) I was not able to get the pellets to go sonic. Not that its a good thing that they do but the gun just sounds too silent for the power it should have. I adjusted the top hat way out too just as a test and it gave it a little more balls but really not that much. Ill put it over the chrony later but I can tell right now something aint right. any ideas?

BTW please tolt post and tell me that silent guns and subsonic pellets are good things. I KNOW that . But I also know that the gun should be able to be noisy and should be able to shoot supersonic if required, and if it isnt, something is not right.

But there are valves of the old style that have the notches. I thought the same thing you said until YN pointed out the picture on the AF site of the Condor valve has always had slots even with the old valve.
This very pict has been on AF site for years and it has slots.

In ref. to my post above, that means he LIKELY has a new style valve. But leaves the only surefire way to tell them apart to remove the valve stem and verify straight or tapered base on the stem.

the two “notches” in the brass face below the tophat indicate you have a new style valve. The old style ones had two round holes/countersinks instead of the notches.
Well I do need to fill it NOW. It was full when I started LOL. And the tophat was at .70 before, when I was getting the low power shots. its at .125 just for testing purposes.
I cant keep shooting in the house though. Im sure my neighbors can hear it and firing anything within the city limits is illegel here, even slingshots and such 🙁

Doubt you need the tophat out that far. perhaps 0.090″???

pop the stem out and if a straight stem + old style
if reduced diameter new style.
Nut appears to indicate new style IIRC old style used holes for the spanner vs slots

is there anything that would tell us if its a new or old valve? any special markings? thanks
I tried taking a good picture but they all came out fuzzy. Maybe during the day with more light it will come out better.

it’s hard to tell by them pics but it looks like you have the old valve and it also looks like it has been taking out at some point.
Did you get it used or are you the original owner of it?
have you removed the internals yet, there should be a little hammer weight on the barrel side of the hammer if this is missing that could be what’s going on, or if the valve has been removed at one point it could be something in there.

This should be easy to sort out, next time you join us at the range Mike and I can both bring new style Condor tanks for you to try. Could also try your tank on our frames too I guess.
FWIW, I ‘read’ your valve as a new style as well.
The key is having a chronograph at hand, doncha think?
