.22 vs .25
i was just wondering if .25 is more efficent than .22, because i was thinking of ordering a .25 barrel. i am mainly looking for heaver pellets, but was wondering if you get more fp per psi.

you will not get more shots with .25, but you will gain a bit of power
jerry i am intrested in both power and eficieny, i am intrested in about 50 fpe and my .22 uses a lot of air it seems like to get that, i was just wondering if i switch to kodiak .25 over einjin .22 if it is more eficient because i use a pump. i have a problem i like to shoot a lot but i do not like to pump a lot 😥
but my problem will be over in a year, after we pay a few things off, i convinced my wife i NEED a compressor 😛 😛

If you consider “fp per psi” ( I assume fp stands for FPE here) as a measure of efficiency, you will find that bigger caliber is almost always more “efficient.” I don’t think FPE per PSI is really a measure of efficiency though.
Are you really interested in the most efficient use of air or getting the most power out of a small bore airgun?
Depends on what valve you using. You need a Condor (or is that conodor! 😉 ) , a blod valve or a Lang valve. 24″ barrel in .25 can push a Kodiak 30.7 grain in excess of 1050 fps for 75 fpe easy. Cos its a wider pellet, it utilises the air a bit better and holds the valve open a tad longer. You see around 1100-1150 in 24″ .22 on a Kodiak 21 grain. Not much fps drop going to .25 considering you shooting almost 10 grains more. 😀

I suppose if you tuned the .25 down a bit to get the same FPE as you had with the .22, you might get a couple more shots. I can’t see that it would be worth it though. You’d probably spend more time pumping to find the right tune than you would save in the long run!
