Q:

Talon with 48ci HPA tank….

Got my 48ci regged HPA tank from Mat Bean at http://www.experthpa.com the other day. Weather and other anomalies has kept me from shooting it until today.

I’ve not messed with tophat setting on the CO2 adapter, nor have I messed with the PW at all, so these numbers may or may not be representative of what it can do.

The tank is regged at 1200psi if I remember right. Barrel is 18 inch .177.

It’s a little back heavy with that tank, but the LOP is just about perfect and despite the extra weight at the back, it shoulders nicely.

I’ve not done a full string from full to empty. With it running this low, I’d imagine I’d get a BUNCH of shots. I shot today for a full session of plinking and the needle barely moved.

Getting 865fps with 8.4gr Exacts out of it.

With the standard tank with the restricted spring retainer, I get around 90 shots at 915fps with 8.4gr Exacts.

nice gun…very different

Brutus… good to see you made the jump. Mat is easy to deal with and as you noted, gives good prices.

Would love to see some pics of your rig with the tank.

Video + computer = circular emails & youtube. Its gonna be funny.

Man you must take a video of them if you win!! 😆 😆 😆

Ordered mine today.
That would be the same 48cl bottle but with an 800 psi set up with shims to push up to 1000psi if needed.

Mat is a busy man but does answer your emails and gives you (me at least) the answer/solution with a bloody good price.

The guys at the rifle club will be running around the next ft course in borat costumes

Yep they all made a bet that i would never out shoot them with a Stealth 😳 but if ‘by chance’ i do they have to don borat swimware and run around the course 😆 . The Gunpower Stealth in the UK is not good out of the box and when shooting against top of the range regulated rifles it dont quite hit the mark, but……….

with all the mods i have fitted for consistancy and accuracy i dont think i am far from beating them and watching them lose the bet 😈

Rob3dr,
do you have any pics of the CO2 adapter, alone?
Especially the inside parts of the adapter. Does it have a spring to close the valve?

i have a 24inch barrel, drums 65g hybrid hammer, blodnobs valve and spring.

I can put to power down to 9foot£ but like to keep it at 11.5 / 12.00.

i get the odd shot that is way over the top but they are few and far between but even still a regulated option would be perfect.

Brutus,

Are you at 12 fpe now; if so, how do you do it??? I get 17 fpe out of Co2 with a 24″ barrel and otherwise standard Talon SS. CO2 is about 850 psi at mid 70’s temps.

With a 24 inch barrel, I wouldnt know exactly but you may want to have Mat go with an 800psi reg and see how many shims you may need to go up to 1000psi. You could then start at 800 and see what velocity you get and add shims to the reg as needed. Adding the shims is no big deal and you wouldnt have to fill the tank to full to test.

Thanks for the reply. I am shooting with a lupy hybrid hammer weighing 65g and have a 24inch barrel.

Do you recon 950psi should do the job with that set up?

Mat lists a phone number on his web site. Seems to be the best way of contacting him…. just give a ring and leave a msg if necessary.

You can easily get 12fpe out of this. This one is a touch over but with a 1200psi reg. You could ask for a 950psi reg and get a couple of spacers to bump up from there should you need to. Depending on your barrel length and caliber, I’d say 950-1000psi would be just about right….

quick questions about the regulaed kit you have just brought.

i am limited to 12 foot pound until i get a fac licence and would like a regulated set up. would this bit of kit you have purchased allow for the power to be set so low?

I sent a email to Mat monday morning from his website but havent gotten any response..what is his normal time frame for answering emails? thanks!

I’d reckon they do…. but I’d say they arent $50 either…. 😯

I think for the saved coin, I’ll deal with the weight… but yes, you’re right… a small CF tank like that would be the cats ass!

$50 bucks with the reg. too 😯

Well… $50.99…. but yes! Check out the link in the orginal message. I’ve dealt with Mat on a few other tanks and his products are top notch. The customer service from him is second to NONE.

The one I saw at the Paintball shop was like $ 145.00 … kind of pricey.
