Q:

More praise for Don G. Shrouds…

I was fortunate enough to have recently acquired a shroud for my Talon SS from Don (shrpshotr28), and like so many others that have bought from him, I am extremely pleased with his product. It adds only 2 1/8 of an inch to the end of my gun, and makes the gun so quiet that it doesn’t spook the critters I shoot at. The only thing I hear from the shooter’s position is the slap of the hammer on the top hat. If you are considering buying one, don’t hesitate. And if you are unsure why, check this out:

That is me shooting both with and without the shroud from my kitchen out my back door. You can really hear the shot reverberating through the kitchen on the first shot, and little more than the hammer on the second. Please keep in mind that the camera was about 6 feet from the bore of the gun, so anything at shooting range isn’t going to hear anything at all.
For those of you considering one of these shrouds, I hope it has convinced you it is worth it. Don didn’t put me up to posting this – I just wanted to show people the quality of the product he creates, and give him the props he deserves. Thanks again to Don for such a quality product.

My Don G’er makes my TSS sound like my nephews Daisy bb gun…sounds like a ping sound then you hear the pellet wap!!!! Great design and worth it for the AF enthusiast.

Beautiful work!!!

Is it just my comp. or is one shot the shroud looks to be a tad smaller than the O.D. of the frame and in the other it looks to be the same O.D.? I THINK, (I don’t know) it is just a matter of personal taste but I like the look of the one that seems to mirror the frames O.D.

Just the difference in angle of the photo. That one is 1.5″ dia which is the same diameter as the frame INCLUDING the dovetail rails. A 1.25 dia. is the same diameter as the tubular portion of the frame EXCLUDING the rails.

ive got one on my SS setup for 18″ barrels-quality is excellent- fit and finish excellent-knurled accents-picked mine up unfinished- just recently painted it- 18″ barrels in .177 and .20cal-in my yard range shooting just about 29 yards- a 10.6 kodiak hitting the target at 800fps is what seems slightly louder than the gun firing? indoors shooting 42 feet -pw4 3000psi fill- basically tank ping-and hammer slap and pellet strike. 8)

Thanks for the kind words ya’all. Glad to be helping others get a little more enjoyment out of our chosen hobby.

I would also like to praise Don.. I installed this along with venting the front bushing and as other have said It works great !! I say worth the $$ !!The fact that it works and the small addition to the length of the gun is really what got me looking at a Dons insert..

Thanks Don !!

Nice πŸ˜€

Ssshhheeeeettt !

I have also purchased a shroud from Don G. for my .25 12 inch barrel’s Condor. It certainly did tame the beast. I have also purchased a very nice trigger and bolt knob from Don. High quality craftsmanship for sure. I currently have my Condor with Don for a total rebuild, tune and accuracy test. The Condor will be coming home with a 20 inch barrel and another custom shroud. Don has assured me the gun will come home a shooter and I will just let him do his thing until the performance that I want from the gun will be achieved.

Would you mind taking it outside and banging it on a metal table so I can diss Don too please. πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

OK, you are no fun so all I can say is that it is very quiet.
