Q:

Chorny lights

Does any one have the dimensions for the metal that holds the lights in place. I have all the materials to build them my self. And I’m a cheep bastard so I don’t want to spend the 50 bucks to buy them.

Any help would be sweet. Thanks.

Sweet. Thank you sir. Looks gust like what I was intending mine to look like. I will be putting it together this week end. Wonder how long I can stretch it out? Might be able to get a hole 12 pack down before it done. 😉 :18

Not 3″ of clearance between the lamp and screen. Just 3″ or so of height to the sheetmetal. Mine sat too close and with 40 watt lamps melted the sky screens. Not that it matters. Still functional. Allow an 1″ or so of clearance and it should be fine.

That was part of the plan. I had thought of using some pins in lau of a lip.
But if you think I need as much as 3″ separation from the plastic I may need to re-cut my sheet metal.

I made my own from sheetmetal the same way. They dont need to be exactly the same size as the factory built one.

It should fit across a 2 1/4″ wide scyscreen. Length will work 6 – 7″. Height should be enough to get the bulb up away from the skyscreen so it doesn’t melt — 3 – 3 1/2″.

Put a small lip on the inside, bottom of the bracket to catch on the skyscreen and give something to sit on.
