Q:

Check This Out…New Crosman Benjamin Maruader PCP!!

I think I must have this…. 8)
“Designed for a fill pressure of 2000 psi of compressed air rather than the industry norm of 3000 psi, the Marauder will be available in both .177 and .22 caliber. The Marauder features a hardwood stock with ambidextrous raised comb and custom checkering, a choked and shrouded barrel that provides improved accuracy and ultra quiet operation, and a new two-stage adjustable match grade trigger pack, with redesigned metal trigger. The Marauder, which weighs 7 lbs 8 oz and stretches 43 inches from end to end, also has a raised design aluminum breech that makes it easier to load and is grooved to accept 11 mm scope mounts. The innovative auto-indexing 10-round clip provides for faster follow-up shots. The Marauder, like the Discovery, has a built-in pressure gauge to display the gun’s level of charge, and a quick-disconnect Foster fitting for easy filling. The .177 rifle produces up to 1,100 fps on compressed air, and the .22 rifle delivers up to 1,000 fps, according to the factory. Dual-Fuel technology allows the Marauder to operate on either compressed air, supplied by Benjamin’s patented hand pump, or from CO2. With a full charge of air at 2,000 psi the new multi-shot bolt-action rifle delivers a minimum of 35 to 45 consistently accurate shots with the factory setup”

I have to say…It really depends. The prices may seem similar but not really.

My personal pros of the Airforce Condor are:
1. Styling and looks(either you love it or you don’t)
2. The trigger is decent
3. Great accuracy
4. Easily Modifiable
5. Option for different power sources
6. Cost
7. Many Others…etc

Cons:
1. Loud(Costly to moderate the sound)
2. No Multishot Capability
3. Styling and looks(either you love it or you don’t)
4. Pistol and fore Grip
5. Butt Stock Design
6. Need the Tri-Rail Mount to mount many scopes at an acceptable height(I think thats whats its called)

Potential of the Marauder:
1. Moderate cost
2. Integrated sound Moderator
3. Integrated Dual power source
4. 10 Shot Magazine!!!(That the one I like)
5. Traditional Rifle Stock design
6. Match trigger
7. Relatively high velocity(we’ll see)

Mind you I’m not vouching for this new, unrealesed gun but it might be a decent alternative to some of the more pricey eruo guns. Cya

I like it and will purchase one when they are ready to ship and try it out with some field tests. I registered on their site. If anyone here is following this rifle development more closely and sees a release date, let me know

that looks pretty cool but I think an airforce is still better for them having same prices, I like the 10 shot clip though

Roger Thanks for giving us the additional info. I checked out your whole site. Great stuff. Keep us informed here. Thx Again Dred121 🙂

Sweet site Roger!!!! Really incredible of you to make it, I hope you get picked for the beta test!

It looks like an incredible intro gun for new people and a great hobby gun. I’m hopeful to find out what kind of accuracy it gets and I hope the velocity with the gun is using crosman premier pellets (the 14gr ones).

I look forward to future updates.

Sweet, you found my web site 😀

The rifle looks interesting, I finally got a chance to talk on the phone with Josh from Crosman on Friday about the Marauder.

Retail price from dealers will be $499, this will not be sold with the pump or as a combo with the pump.

I asked about the retail pricing on the 10-shot clips, he said that has not been established yet.

The gun was designed to be used on a 2000psi fill, but can be safely charged up to 3500 psi for more shots per fill. I asked how this would be possible without the velocity jumping all over the place, but they are not disclosing the exact details of how they are going to be able to do it. I think it will have an internal power adjuster. They will share more information, as they get closer to the launch.

He also said at this time they are building a new production line for the assembly of the rifle, and he says it will be made here in usa. They also will be making the choked barrels themselves.

He said he likes the MarauderAirRifle.com site, and I invited him to join the forum, where I have an ask Crosman area. He said he will as soon as he gets the chance.

I also asked if I could be considered as a beta rifle tester for the marauder so I could post photos, shot string data, and video clips up the marauderairrifle.com site. He will check into it, and get back to me.

I’m sure since they haven’t dealt with me before, my chances of getting to review the new marauder will depend on how many people, visit my site and sign up for the news list or join the form.

If I am selected to test it I will be able to make some comparisons between the Marauder and Air Arms S410, since I ordered one last Tuesday from Pomona Air Guns. As soon as the new shipment to comes in, he will prep it and send it out.

I am not expecting the Marauder to be everything the s410 is, but if it performs well, with a good decent stock, adjustable trigger, shrouded barrel, and a 10 shot clip for only $499

I think they will sell many rifles over the next few years.

Roger

I agree…I wonder the weight of the pellets too. I hope they weren’t using that PBA stuff.

I saw the $500 price tag. I wonder if thats with the hp pump too. Anyway, looks alot better than the Discovery. I guess we’ll see. I’m gonna watch this one. Hopefully the shroud is good too.

Cya guys

Benjamin will have a huge success if they can keep the price under $500. I might actually buy one if it cheap enough.

They probably used the 11.9 gr. Hobby pellet to get the 1000 fps velocity claim, I bet it will be around 800 with a 16 gr. JSB.

Edit
I just read that it will be $499. I would have hoped it would be around $400, but $500 is still very good, presuming it is accurate and well built.

Seen it before and it looks cool. Depending on price and how well it actually works it could be very successful. I’m curious what pellet weight they used to get 1,000 fps in .22 caliber.
