i got some questions
hey everyone.
ive been trying to decide between a fx revolution or a condor PCP for some time now and the condor is looking pretty good, but can you fill the air tank with a average little workshop air compressor? thanks

from empty expect about 400 pumps for a 500cc tank, after first 100 you gotta let it cool for 10 min, and then it will still be warm so only 50 strokes…10 minutes…50 strokes and so on
but for regular shooting your filling from empty, i used to fire off 30-50 shots, and then refill which is about 100 pumps, and can be done in 5 min, and unless you wanna practice for olimpic ski shooting you gotta wait for you pulse to come down a bit, and your good to go again.
the first 7 or so years of pcp shooting i used pump and never had a problem with it, except you gotta use your legs and not your back when you pump or yo will fuck up your back
my back gave out long time ago, and i had to stop shooting or be the wife to fill my rifle….she agreed that i needed a scuba tank 😉
i then switched to scuba tanks a 4350 psi tank, it will cost you twice the price of a pump…plus you gotta get it filled witch can cost you from 3-16 bucks, plus yearly inspections….but when thats said and done you will never go back to a pump !
i get about 20 full fills on a tank full, plus another 10 underfills at least
shooting your rifle, and then just walk over to the tank refill the rifle and continue shooting is so nice !
a scuba tank is usually about 3000-3200 psi, these tanks are not really suited for our needs, as our guns requires 2700-3000 psi, so you only get one or two full fills from the scubatank before its below what the gun should be filled to
shop compressors go to about 150 psi so they are no good, and scuba compressors will set you back at least 1000 for a used one and probably more like 2500-3500 for a new one
a 300 bar (4350 psi) bottle will set you back 2-400 bucks + 100 bucks in a fill kit….then theres gas to drive to the scuba shop, fills, and inspections to add to the cost
a pump will cost you 250 bucks for a good one, and you only got the physical exertions to bother you, its easier to carry with you than a full sized scuba tank.

with the hand pump, how many pumps would it take to fully presurize the tank?
Nope, standard workshop-type compressors don’t have enough muscle to pressurize that high.
They do make compressors that’ll do the job, but they run well over $1000, even for a used one.
Other than that, your choices (as you probably already know) are a hand pump or scuba tank.

FX Revo or a condor?
Lets put it in “car terms”…
Ferrari or a “chevy”? 😀
Now seriously, condor is a nice rifle (once you tune it up a little), but i think youre talking heaven and earth diference with the fx revo. the revo is a top of the line gun, and the condor is near bottom of the line. If you can afford it, then there is no question. get the revo!
