.22 Crow Mag test with 12" Condor SS at 25 yards
Well been trying a few things out and it seems the .22 Beeman Crow Mags for cost, accuracy, and energy dump wins, but the true test will be this spring.

Interesting idea, i guess that would give them aerodynamics similar to a wadcutter? but i fear that it would degrade its “expansion” capabilities, and therefor cancel the whole idea of using them 🙁
I have some CMs, ill give it a try with the wax and tell you how it turned up.
what if you fill the cup with a soft wax?
Crowmags will do well under 30 yds but stretch it another 5 to 10 yds and watch the groups open up..the don’t seem to do to bad at velocities under 700 to 800 fps…My guess is the large cup holds a pocket of air the cause them to de-stabilize at higher velocites…I’ve had them hit the target sideways at 40 yds…
That looks like a reasonable size group!, at 30 meters (33 yards or so) my condor makes groups about 2″ at best with crow mags. 🙁
I wish my gun would like them better, because it love those pellets for hunting.
Funny thing is with my 24″ .22 barrel Crow Mags would not group even at 25 yards??
Man oh man different barrels, velocity, pellets yield some strange results???

I shoot the Crow Mags’ under 30 yrds and accuracy is ok, but anything more than that and its pretty hit & miss(pardon the pun!)

Randy, you get some of the oddest results. Ive never seen ANYBODY shoot 5 Crow Magnums into one hole before. I wonder if they will continue to fly straight further than 25 yards for you.
For me they do not. My .25 condor barrel is the only one I have that doesnt keyhole CMs. Still it sprays them around though.

Well i tried crowpopper´s idea of filling the tip of the crow mags with wax, i lit a candle, and carefully put a drop of wax on several pellets, its kinda tricky, sometimes the wax just fell off after it dryed, i solved this by cleaning the pellet with alcohol first.
NE way, i went shooting on saturday, and i made a couple of groups with them, versus a couple of groups with “standard” crow mags. Distance was exactly 30 meters, into a large sheet of wood about 3″ thick.
The results were rather dissappointing. 🙁 one of the groups from the “waxed” pellets was actually larger than the groups of standard CMs, and the other one was about the same. About 2″ at that distance.
I did dropped a couple of grackles at about 20 ~ 25 meters with standard CMs tho. 😈
And i must say that for hunting, i absolutely love these things. You just have to keep the distance short. I took 2 shots with them and got 2 kills and zero misses. Both hits were in the chest, and both birds dropped dead like a rock.
I also noticed that the POI of the CMs is not too far from the POI of kodiaks (with my gun at least), so now i keep 12 CM in my pellet holder, along with the Kodiaks i normally use, if i see a target at short range (below 20 meters), i load up a CM, but if its farther away, its Barracuda time 😈
