Q:

Sling on an AF rifle. Is it safe (for the rifle)?

im thinking about puting a sling on my condor, but i am concerned it might damage the gun.
The sling secures to the very rear of the tank, and since the contact point between the tank an the rifle is fairly weak (the ring attached by a single screw to the allum frame), i am concerned that puting the rifle under that stress would damage it. Imagine carrying the rifle in the field, with the sling attached to the rear of the tank, and front of the frame, i think the weight of the rifle might place too much preasure on it, specially on the place where you screw the tank and it might get damaged or loose.
Has anyone used a sling on an AF rifle for a reasonable ammount of time? anything happened to it? should i ditch the whole sling idea, or im just being paranoid?

Any ideas welcomed and appreciated.

I just reattached my sling yesterday – to my bipod’s swivel mount; which
I drilled the fore grip to mount. Was easy and works great. Just a thought.

quote WalkonKing:

It works fine. Just do not use the sling wrapped around your hand for shooting.

I use a sling and carry it tactical fashion

you mean in a “single point” mount? thats what i had in mind.
do you have a picture of your gun with the sling attached?

I put a sling on my Talon when i go hunting and have not had any problems yet. I have only had the gun a few months but it is fine so far.
