Q:

New Condor /12" SS

I just got my new Condor and installed the 12″ barrel with SS cap. At # 6 it shoots 915 fps with JSB Exacts and 5 shots cut one hole @ 22yds. At #8 it only goes 925 fps. so I guess 6 is better.I like the 12″ better than the 24″. Will the JSB be good for small game, they shoot verry well. I have not tried other setups yet, this made me happy right off. Beats the hell out of my 20 cal. RX2 super gas. Does the vel. sound right, it seems to get a good 30-40 rounds off a fill. Is there anything else I should try, I have Crow Mag. Kodiak Gold and some of the 28gr. EunJin on order.
Thanks Glenn

Glen,

My experience with CO2 is that Condor and Talon shoot the same for the same barrel length. The Adapter is the same as the Condor Valve and the hammer weight doesn’t really matter as any extra hit is just wasting CO2. I get 735 fps from my Talon 24″ barrel on CO2 and like 680 from the 12″ Barrel. Both with CP .22. PW set to 8/16 (i.e. nearly 0). I get 600+ very consistent shots with the 12 oz tank and it is nearly identical ergonomics with the HPA tank.

OOPs, sorry. 680 fps on CO is with 18″ .22, the 12″ .22 is more like 600fps.

Hey Glenn, post up your numbers with the 12” barrel and the Kodiaks when you get them please.

Thanks Glenn L,

Good to know, have you tried it on the higher power settings ?

Hi Glenn L,

New to condor, does the 12” Barrell and endcap make much of a difference to the noise level at power # 6 ?

Thank you,

It is a big differnce, I like the 12″ a lot. It shoots @ #1 850 fps. all I need for around the house.

Give me the numbers from the Kodiaks. Weight of pellet and velocity. Also, how do you like the RX-2? I have the RX-1.

I do not have the Kodiak Golds yet still waiting. The Beeaman RX2 shoots nice tight groups at the same 22yds. with 20 cal Beeman Kodiak ex heavys, holes cut if you do your part. I never would believe a break barrel would do this, vel. is 750 fps. The RX2 was given to me, a friend took it apart and thought he ruiend it beacause it shoots to high to sight in, so he bought another. It still shoots high, but I am going to fix that.
The Co2 on the AF leakes from the adapt. it shoots great, I wish I would have stayed with the air, and use it turned dow.
Thanks Glenn

Those numbers sound good to me. Especially from a 12″ barrel. Is it .22 Cal.?

Which JSB exacts? The 15.9gr Jumbos or 14.3 Exact Express? I ‘m going to guess the 1st. That’s 100fps faster than a Talon SS so that’s about where where it should be with the Condor tank, velocity wise.

The JSB Jumbos are pretty good for huting, but its cousin, the JSB Predator (16.4-16.5gr), is better 🙂 The Predators are very accurate too. You should give them a try. The Kodiaks would probably be the most accurate pellet in your gun, or at least as good as the JSB’s. I put bait out for raccons and possums, etc. at night and it’s 22yds out like your targets. I too shoot 1 ragged hole with Kodiaks and Predators. Eun Jin 28.4 are pretty close too.. but I have my guns usually zeroed at 30 or 35yds cause that’s where most of the squirrels are..

I have the 15.9 Jumbos , the crow mags did not shoot as well, may need some work. The JSBs shoot great right from the start at #6 on HPA & the Co2. Tha 22yds. is from the kitchen table through the den and out into the shop.

Did you change the hammer weight? Those numbers look good to me, if you can keep the velocity under the speed of sound and get the quantity of shots you like in a fill your golden….

No, the hammer is the stock Condor. I got a 20oz. Co2 but it is too big, did not know when I ordered it. I want to get a 12oz. It shoots great on Co2 just prints lower with the JSB’s . Did not crono them on o2 yet.

Thanks Glenn
