for UK stealth owners /paintball setup
For the benefit of the UK stealth owners 12FPE
I dont think anyone else has posted this paintball regulated setup before for sub 12ft/lb, because I was interested in it but couldnt find anything on it, so decided to post my own experience.
I hope you already know the advantages if you are reading stuff being posted on this forum,
If not you can compare the two readings and find out for yourself.
I took the plunge(thanks to sirjeigo for advice and inspiration from others as well),bought myself a paintball bottle( Pure energy 48cu/in – 800cc 3000psi aluminium) regulated to 800-900 psi (It is stock no tempering)
I dont like the gauge as the reading is too narrow, I have tried but not been successful in finding a better gauge if anyone can recommend any 1/8 NPT gauge max reading 3000psi with better spaced readings please I would be grateful.

UK stealth with leupy 60g hybrid hammer&spring /valve o’ring mod/ breach o’ring mod.
everything else is standard.
chrono is combro CB625
this is the string from todays shooting (nice and warm 14 degrees) and this is only using pressure from 3000psi to 2000psi as I got tired and also wanted to compare the original bottle.
Now because of the gauge, next time when I pick up the paintball tank I’ll know exactly how much pressure is in my tank no more guess work.
and i have a general idea that at What pressure my pellets should be coming out at what sort of FPE and how much holdover I should have while aiming.

Ah I know you are thinking how is he going to hold the gun.
that vice is a separate story all together but as far as stock is concerned I have seen some very good stock designs on this forum and I hope those who have made them will be kind enough to allow me to follow in their foot steps (rabbits , synopsys) to name a few

so If i understand it right.
You are going to use the body of the CO2 adater for your bottle to fit into the back and on the front you are going to change the valve and fit the blodnob valve?

I would be interested in your chrono readings if they do change with the Tophat.
What you have written seams right.
The only adjustment necessary with the tophat is one that would allow all air inside the regulated part of the setup escape. It would be a pain in the ass if the TH did not empty the regulator as it would not work to its full capicity but I don’t see this being a problem.
I have a blodnob valve so I have no problems with TH adjustment and stem dammage.
I will be running 2 bottles. 1 regulated for FT/club use where it is very important that a pellet could not creap over the 12F£ mark and a non regulated set up for hunting where the odd shot is not such a problem.
What regulator are you using and how much did it cost with the bottle?
I checked out your previous posts Brutus and you were wondering what output the regulator should have for a 24 in barrel. I had similar questions, tried asking jdsair in the US but didnt manage to hammer out a deal and my questions were still unanswered, so went ahead and bought the standard paintball bottle from UK.
judging by my experience youll probably stay very close to 800psi output if you want to shoot sub 12ft/lb with a 24in barrel
I am no expert on CO2 adapters but have a strong feeling adjustments on the tophat are not going to make the same sort of difference as they do on a normal valve. as the air between the adapter and the regulator will always stay 800psi
BTW the wall thickness on the CO2 stem is very thin and the grub screws on mine have already indented it(I havent touched it) . The more you move them and make new indentations you are going to restrict airflow. Therefore I would rather try adjusting the regulator .
The only drawback I can feel with this setup is that once you are set for one particular output, to change it will require depressurising and adjusting the whole regulator.
If I am giving wrong opinion could someone please correct me.

Well that’s a bloody good string of shots.
I ordered a rig from experthpa the other week and am waiting for it to arrive.
I have an adjustible valve starting at 800 with shims to take upto 1000 if needed.
I am glad it works for you as it should also work for me.
