New Guy here
I just wanted to introduce myself I am a new guy here and I have been into airguns pretty much all my life. I currently don’t own any at the moment the last one I had was a gamo hunter. I am trying to decide on either a Talon SS or a Condor at the moment.

What ever you do, do not buy an AirForce pump….Most of us have been there done that and regreted it……
Yeah thats what I have been reading on here what brand do you recommend?

Yeah thats what I was thinking I would need to get a moderator if I got a condor. Luckily my bro in law is hooking me up with a scuba tank but I am still gonna get a pump as a backup and with everything else I need to buy I think overal I will be better off with the Talon plus I can always upgrade later on.
OK…Get the stinkin Talon SS……You won’t be disappointed….

Could NOT agree more……..
I agree that the Talon SS is the best place to start. It’ll be more than enough for your backyard! I’ve been easily dropping squirrels with my stock Talon SS at 60 yards. I’d try further but I just haven’t had the chance to shoot in bigger areas yet. Make sure you use a good backstop! I accidentally shot through my fence with my SS. Luckily, my neighbor is a good friend of mine and nobody was outside next door. My point is the Talon SS is plenty and a great place to start. If you start out with a Condor, you won’t be able to shoot it in your yard until you spend for money and buy a moderator/shroud. It’s much too loud. The TSS is much quieter and can be easily made even quieter by you and a few things from the hardware store for less than $10. Even stock it’s backyard friendly. You can always get longer barrels and heavier hammers later on. Make sure you get the .22 caliber.
Welcome,
The Talon SS is a great place to start.
The only thing that is modded on this one is the trigger…..I polished the barrel, the frame where the hammer slides, put silicon grease on the metal part of the hammer, and that’s it….Those are things anyone can do and it makes a world of difference….The hardest part is finding out what pellet, psi, and PW setting your gun likes and that just takes a lot of shooting and time…..I have shot over 3500 pellets and just now found out that the gun likes 2600psi with JSB on PW 10/10…..
Stop leaning and get a Condor….
This is what a Condor can do when it is set up…..
Of course a Talon SS would do it too if it had a 24″ barrel but, it doesn’t
come with a 24″ barrel……You can see how these
rifles are sensitive to pressure and Power Wheel
settings..The groups just get tighter and tighter on mine..That
dot by the tight group was behind a stake that I had
set out at 50yds to check my parallax..I couldn’t see
it from where I was so I was trying to shoot and let the
wind take it around the stake to the dot….I am thinking
that the wind was not very previlant at that time…It didn’t
curve to the right…I didn’t want you to think the rifle
was that far off….
You just have to find what works best
for the rifle and it is a blast figuring it out…Fun
but not hard…It just takes a lot of shooting and I think that is what it’s all about……… :8

Oh if I can find a good deal on a used Condor I will be all over it
Yeah I wish I could start out with a fully modded gun but since I am starting with nothing I have to work my way up there.

The more I thought about it the more this story
sounded like a crock…
This is what I was seeing from my shooting position….
This may make things a little more clear/understandable..
I know…I should have moved over….

➡ SS with 12″ barrel can have internal sound suppression made at home by a laman. Have the pwr dial on 3.75 and less; and not only will you be a proud owner, but then, you may want more intense
“drug of Led”.

Yeah thats another thing that is making me lean towards the SS is the home made suppression.
lol i didnt start out with gate way drugs i went strait for the full on top o the line modded condor hehehe
➡ You’ll see and feel that the SS if totally FINE for the added price of a tank (high flow) with the cost of a 2′ barrel. With that, go SS and for HUNTING just get an 18″ barrel and dial up the power to 11+! Kicks ass and not as much $. Sure after starting the drug of Air & Led you’ll be coming back here. Then, maybe some small MODs will gain and suffice. Depends on your wallet.

I have a BSA Hill and an FX 4 stage….The FX is really nice. It has a screw in the handle that makes pumping easier when you get to say 150 bars or 2,200 psi….Airguns Of Arizona sells them but you have to call them and ask for it…It is not published on the website…..The hill pump with the moisture trapping filter has the ability to be connected to a shop compressor that makes tank filling faster…..But either one would be good…..
